Baby Percy what can we say… he’s no longer a pup. Once a tiny starved lurcher that came in a bag of bones. Swipe to see how far he was come!
He never lost his spirit and was up for playing, walking and cuddles. He’s given any other dog here a run for their money with his determination and strength. While he is large now he still is only a pup that needs routine and training consistently while he matures. He would be perfect for a dog savvy family and could live with another dog or two pending a dog meet. In facet it would probably do him wonders to live with another dog to show him the ropes. A tolerant one who doesn’t mind a lanky teenager in their home! As always with cats it is an unknown but as he is only a puppy so proceed with caution. Fully enclosed garden if you have one and Homecheck carried out by Cork City Council Dog Warden Services. Thinking of adopting a dog give Percy a chance he’s ready to be someone’s dog. Meet Podge a Greyhound on the older side. Despite his greying face he is a lovely playful chap. Ideally suited to a home that has older dog savvy kids or adults only. Fully enclosed garden if you have one as this guy is a wanderer. No cats, small dogs or small furries. Another sighthound his own size preferably female. Podge would love a home where he walked daily, given cuddles and sure if the walk is on a beach at sunset that would be ideal too. See https://cspca.ie/animals/podge-s096/ to apply.

Former CSPCA Stray now a qualified Garda sniffer dog. Wilson the springer spaniel swapped life in the pound for catching cork criminals. We always love a post adoption update but this one is in a league of its own! This all started 4 years ago with a conversation with Garda Conor Egan of Blackrock station who got the ball rolling and spoke with Dee of Irish search dogs, Conor is a great friend to us here in the CSPCA and is always trying to help rehome our dogs and promote adoption rather shopping for a dog. We wish wilson well in his very important roll.

Carole the terrier cross is back with us as a surrender. Through no fault of her own. Carole is roughly 7years she’s a confident, quiet dog who would be ideal in a laid back home with a family experienced with dogs. She would likely do well living with another dog as well. As separation anxiety in the home was the primary reason for surrender. With consistency and structure she learns well. She is such a sweetie and staff are sad to see her back but know she won’t be here long as she is an amazing wee dog with so much to give. Go to https://cspca.ie/dog-adoption-form/ to apply.

Meet Beans a neutered male cat estimated to be 3 years old. He is a sweet gentleman who truly enjoys cuddles and attention from staff. Sadly through no fault of his own he was surrendered with his sister Millie due to a change in circumstances in their family.
They were truly loved and well cared for and their owners were devastated. We hope we can find a home for the two of them to go together. Do you have space for this duo in your home? Relaxed household with a calm environment needed for these guys to adjust to their new life.

Remember Coco the black Lurcher ?
Just to give you an update on Coco, who’s now Kleo, and how’s she’s getting on.
She’s very happy and settling in great. She’s mostly on the couch or in the garden whenever possible. She’s incredibly chilled and relaxed but has some big spurts of energy. She’s so demanding with the amount of cuddles she gets, and it never seems to be enough. Everyone just absolutely adores her, and we couldn’t be happier.
Thank you all so much!

Dia dhaoibh,

Just a quick note to say thanks to Katie, Cassie and everyone at CSPCA for helping us to adopt little Winnie. She loves going for big sprints, learning tricks, chasing after her frisbee, trips in the car, hanging out with our family and sleeping as much as possible in her many comfy beds.

Winnie is a great girl and has brought so much joy and love into our home. Whippets/lurchers make fantastic pets. I wish more people knew how lovely they are. Winnielikes going for a small walk in the morning and at lunch, but she is happy to snooze all day in her bed or on the couch while we work. Everyone assumes she needs to be walked for hours etc and I think that puts people off adopting these dogs but it’s not true at all!

You’ve probably noticed that it has been rather hot recently?

Indeed it has, but hot weather isn’t always as enjoyable to animals as it is to humans.

Ensure water & shade is provided for all your animals!🏖

Meet Nina the Dobermann Pinscher. She is 14 months approx. She arrived to us as a stray in very poor condition. We have since bulked her up with nutritious food and treated her for manage. As you can see she is a very pretty polite youngster who is quite small for her breed. She is playful and shy with other dogs and loves the time she gets to spend with kennel staff. I mean look at that face.. wouldn’t your heart melt!

Knowledge of restricted breeds advised. Kids over 12+ due to Nina’s size. Unknown with cats. Could live with another dog or two depending the result of a dog meet. Enclosed garden compulsory suitable for the dogs size(fencing 6ft+). Homecheck by cork city dog warden service required. To apply visit www.cspca.ie
