Mindmypet.cyou

Mindmypet.cyou Operating since 2010 MindMyPet is a free community service for pet owners, and even non pet owners, in Ireland and the UK. Free reciprocal pet minding.

It's all about reciprocity: responding to one positive action with another positive action. Mindmypet.cyou (originally Mindmypet.org) was launched in 2010 with the aim of bringing pet owners and non-commercial pet minders together. Before setting up MindMyPet we had been involved with an animal rescue organisation abroad, helping with the international adoption of a disabled wheelchair bound dog i

n Russia, called Tuzik. Tuzik has since passed but from a life of relative misery at least the last couple of years of his life were spent in the kind, loving and cared for environment of the Pets With Disabilities centre in Maryland in the US. There is an RT (Russia Today) video news piece on Tuzik at our website. We have a Yorkie of our own and realise the potential benefit of such a site. We thought it would be a good idea to try and set up a site such as MindMyPet - we thought that if we would use such a service then others might also (the only problem was that no such service existed at that time!) So, here we are - if MindMyPet helps folks that's great! Seven years after launching the site, in 2017 Mindmypet.cyou extended the service to cover other English speaking countries and territories such as the UK, as well as the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Gibraltar. At MindMyPet you will be able to search for someone to mind your pet for free or you will be able to offer to mind someone's pet for free, of course there will be incidental expenses such as food etc. Reciprocity is the name of the game: responding to a positive action with another positive action. Not everyone who seeks a pet minder will be in a position to in turn mind a pet but that is the aim. Also there will be folks who can mind a pet but who themselves perhaps do not have any pets. There could be someone in your own area, even on your own street possibly, who could mind your pet but very often you may not even know that - that's where MindMyPet can help. The site is totally free, there are no membership charges whatsoever. When you register as a member you can upload photos and videos of your pet(s). MindMyPet was the first service of its kind in Ireland, since then other similar services have been launched, however, these other services are commercial. MindMyPet started as, is and will remain a non-commercial, free service. The aim of MindMyPet is to benefit pet owners and their pets, not to make money. MindMyPet is essentially a community service, not a commercial enterprise.

Mr Chelm won his owners and trainers over €20,000 during his racing “career”.

What was his reward? A one way ticket to Pakistan for a life of continued exploitation. Advertised at stud in the United Friends Greyhound Kennel, yet still registered to his Irish owners, that doesn’t say much for traceability and transparency does it? ❌

Greyhound racing may kill as many as 12,000 greyhound pups every year 💔

This dead horse was dumped in a heap with rubbish. This is the destiny of the animals abused for tourist rides in Egypt.

Posting Again as we haven’t received one email of help 💔

This is a photo of them in their first foster home. Sadly they had to come back to the shelter and need another foster home.

‼️Urgent Puppy Foster Appeal.

Can you help sisters Seahorse and Barnacle?

4 month Lurcher puppies Seahorse and Barnacle were all set to go to a foster home but sadly it fell through last minute. They both tested positive for Parvovirus early last week and were very sick. They have been so brave and medication has helped them get over the worst of it but they are still positive and we are desperately seeking a foster home for them.

We have successfully fostered lots of puppies with Parvovirus and our fostering team will give you all the advice you need for their fostering period.

They do need a foster home with NO other animals or young children and be available to return to the shelter for vet visits.

If you can help please email making sure to include a contact number - [email protected]

Thank you 🐾

If you can help, even just a little, please do.

When it gets so cold like it is now, if folks have a few euros to spare a simple way to help foxes and even birds is to buy one of those huge bags of dry dog food and put a few kg out each evening somewhere where foxes might pass by. In such cold temperatures they also need a helping hand.

Todays emergency….. 💔
Mum & her 10 four day old pups were to be disposed of but an amazing man stepped in to save them all.
Thankfully we have a super foster home sorted and we are sorting transport from his house as we speak.
We have named her Tilly.

Will you help me start her fundraiser? So we can buy all the supplies they will need.

The Australian greyhound racing industry has reached new lows. They think it's great that a dog without a tongue and a dog with one eye are risking their lives on racetracks.

The Greyhound Recorder thought this was a fantastic story, writing an article last year about No Words titled "Dog With No Tongue Capturing Hearts All Over". In NSW, GWIC stewards were fine with Firethorn racing after having an eye removed.

Thousands and thousands of greyhounds race every year. These two don't need to.

Please contact the NSW industry regulator GWIC at [email protected] or on their customer service hotline 13 49 42 and express your concerns about Firethorn. You may want to include the words of a vet with 40 years' experience: "A dog with only one eye is at increased risk of collision with other dogs in a race. Tracks are inherently hazardous and reduced vision puts the dog at a disadvantage, increasing its chances of injury."

You can contact Greyhound Racing Victoria at [email protected] or on +61 3 8329 1100 to express your concerns about No Words. Vet's words: "A greyhound without a tongue won’t be able to thermoregulate properly. He could get hyperthermia and die if raced on a hot day."

I absolutely see where they're coming from. We're not vegan, we're not even vegetarian, though we'd like to be vegetarian.

Don't want this to sound as though I'm preaching or whatever but in general as people, as a species, we've got this amazing ability to disconnect - on one hand most of us love animals and care very much for animal welfare, on the other hand, we eat meat.

It's only when you stop to think about it that, well, you don't want to think about it, probably because it's slightly difficult to reconcile.

Many, many years ago when we were in Egypt each and every day we left the hotel we would be approached by horse drawn buggies called "kalesh", being totally ignorant back then to the plight of those horses we used to get them. With hindsight, not a good thing to do at all.

They work the poor horses, in extreme heat, to the bone. If you're ever in Egypt, please avoid the horse drawn buggies.

Investigators went behind the wall of the ticketed tourist area at the Giza pyramids in Egypt, and every single day, they found the dead bodies of horses dumped in a heap with rubbish.
