🐾 A happy ending to a very busy week… and a reminder that speaking up matters. ❤️

A long time ago, a member of the public saw something that didn’t look right.

They witnessed a woman, who was intoxicated, hitting two dogs with a chain while walking down the middle of the road.

They could have carried on.

They didn’t. They picked up the phone and called Dorset Police.

We attended, the woman was arrested, and two young dogs — Lulu and Coco — were seized and taken to safety.

That one phone call changed the direction of two dogs’ lives.

Our good friends at Dog Luv Kennels took Lulu and Coco in and have provided them with incredible care throughout what has been a long journey.

As two young females growing and maturing together, the decision was eventually made that separating them was in their best interests.

🐶 Lulu, the older of the two, has since been adopted by an awesome family and is now enjoying the life she deserves.

And today came another bit of fantastic news…

🐶 Coco has secured a place with Salisbury, where she will now be given the opportunity to be matched with her own forever family. 🏡❤️

The courts have now passed sentence, finally bringing the legal side of this case to a conclusion.

There have been a lot of people involved along the way, and my thanks go to every single person who has played a part in protecting, caring for and advocating for these two girls.

But I particularly want to thank the person who made that first call.

Never underestimate the importance of speaking up when you see an animal being mistreated.

You might think you're simply making a phone call.

For Lulu and Coco, that phone call changed everything. 🐾❤️
