We were lucky enough to be invited to Chester Zoo for a fantastic CPD event 🩺✨

It was a brilliant opportunity for our team to learn, network and socialise with other veterinary practices outside of the clinic environment 🐾

Continuous learning is such an important part of what we do, helping us bring the very best care back to our patients every day πŸ’™

Wishing you all a happy & healthy bank holiday weekend πŸ’™πŸΎ

Meet the faces behind the practice πŸ‘‹πŸ₯πŸ’™

At the heart of our independent practice are three directors, each bringing years of experience, passion and dedication to animal care across our community. Vanessa, Guy and Paul have proudly been directors of the practice since 2010.

🐾 Vanessa – Small Animal Director
Vanessa graduated from Dublin Vet College in 1998 and has worked in North Wales ever since, caring for pets and building long-standing relationships with clients across the local community.

πŸ„ Guy – Large Animal Director
As the son of a local dairy farmer, Guy has a real passion for the livestock industry and supporting the farming community in our local area.

🌍 Paul – Export Director
Born in Queensland, Australia, Paul grew up on a beef farm before studying at the University of Queensland, where he qualified as a vet in 1998.

As an independent veterinary practice, we are proud to be owned and run by three local people who genuinely care about our clients, patients and community. Being independent means we can focus on what matters most, providing personal, compassionate care for every animal we see, without corporate influence.

Thank you for continuing to support local, independent veterinary care πŸ’™

Welcome to the Daleside Family! πŸ’™πŸΎ

We would like to introduce you to our newest members of the team…

Abigail Cox - Veterinary Surgeon 🩡
β€œHi, I’m Abi! I graduated from Cambridge in 2024. I’ve spent 18 months working in Norfolk before joining the Daleside team! I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice, particularly surgery. In my spare time I enjoy getting out and about in the countryside on walks and bike rides. When I’m not outside, I can be found relaxing at home with my cat Tabs.
I look forward to meeting you!”

Amy Brook - Approved Tuberculin Tester 🩡
β€œGrowing up on a beef farm in North wales, working with cattle has always been a passion of mine. After completing a level 3 agriculture course In Llysfasi I split my time between working at home and on dairy farms which I continue to do when I can. I joined the Daleside team in April 2026 and l really enjoy chatting to all the clients. Outside of work I like to spend time with my 2 collies, Cari and Ben”

Sinead Lewis - Receptionist & Student Veterinary Nurse 🩡
β€œHello, I’m Sinead Lewis and I joined Daleside in April 2026 to be a Student Vet Nurse as a mature student. Past studies at Reaseheath land base studies and Zoology at Chester University. My previous job roles have always been animal centred with vairy roles being pony handler, detection dog handler, trainer, grooming assistant/dog host, working with the RSPCA and VetsNow and other vet practices and now pursuing my dream career to be a Vet Nurse.
At home I live on a farm where I keep my pet Welsh Pony that I’ve had for 17 years. My favourite thing to do in my spare time is riding, reading, traveling as well as dog training and walking. I am very social and enjoy meeting all animals and their parents!”
