Mahons glory takes off his removable dreadlocks long enough to have a walk and a trot out and about with Lee on board.

First day back for this lad after 6 weeks off ….he’ll spend a couple of weeks just ‘bumbling’ around and getting back into the routine of being ridden - just out hacking etc before we start building up his fitness and getting the canter work into him before he heads off to Dylan’s in a couple of months. 🏇🏽

He’s got plenty of time until he’s back on course and we hope for another successful season for him and his owners. 💫

Bitter Ginge … Aka: Hank.
Is a 2year old gelding by Logician out of Sweettowatch. The latter related to Faugheen and maughreen who are no slouches so Hank has a fair bit to live up to when he finally graces the racecourse.

He is in to be backed and ridden away before going back out to grass to carry on growing and maturing.

So far he’s proved straightforward with a very workable attitude….

Although!!! - the very second an electric fence is turned off : he knows it. Not an ounce of regard - off he trots- straight through it - just ploughs on until it breaks to get into the next door paddock where the grass is no greener and no better! 🤦‍♀️

So - I have come to conclusion he’s doing it merely for the sport. (Thank you Hank)

Owned by Mike Tudor and Tash Tudor of Genet Racing Llc - who also owned Sweettowatch.

Rough plan is 3 year old bumpers autumn 2026 so he’s plenty of time yet…. ⏰ they might need to electrify the tape at the start of the race though or he’ll just keep barging through it! 🫣

Since the rain arrived - Nobby (Nowmelad) has decided to seek warmer climes and is attempting to dig to Australia : I have told him at least once that it’s actually winter there at the moment but he won’t listen…. 🙄

They’re absolutely right - PP is hairy all over never mind just his chest.

Thought we would quite like to win…. : but decided against once we remembered that : first is actually the worst according to that poem from school….
Decided on a late dash to try and get that second which is said to be ‘the best’ … but, have had to succumb to the hairy chest instead. 🪒

Play Pretend is now in residence at Dave Roberts’ yard and Bitter Ginge is back with us and in for backing….

The rain has finally conceded to give us a light spattering - (I wasnt convinced spattering was going to be a word)… alas, t’was.
T’was also. Amazing scenes.

But… we need more.

Nowmelad (Nobby) has joined the gang and is only a week or so away from coming in for pre-training with us.

His owner is a big supporter of us and asked us to pre-train Nobby for him this time around which we were of course more than happy to do.

Lee has a good relationship with Nobby already having won on him twice and picking up plenty of places.

We will do plenty of hacking about with him as well as cantering whilst he’s here which I think he’ll relish…. Here’s hoping he has a fruitful year.

Mahons Glory is back after a fabulous couple of months at Dylan Cunhas where he notched up two wins and a second in his three runs.

He’s returned looking fantastic and we’re looking forward to getting him back going after he’s had a bit of well deserved down time.
