Not quite…

From Worcestershire to Warwickshire … to Shropshire …. And back to Worcestershire, no sign of a single bloody disco- 🪩 Although - I did see a packet of salt and vinegar ones: should have bought them!!!
Bought malteasers instead. Argh. ⚖️

Talking of postcards, when is the next break in NH racing - I reckon i need a holiday. ☀️

NB: Discos are the saltiest and roundest crisps I’ve ever known …. Sounds like - they’d actually be me: if I was a crisp. Which obviously I’m not.

Billy is coming along well… He has been back in work now for 2 months - the first couple of weeks being relatively stead...

Billy is coming along well…
He has been back in work now for 2 months - the first couple of weeks being relatively steady … and this afternoon he’s been off for another ‘away day’…

He’s had a tendon injury in the past and has now done a few light pieces of work since being back …. we’re going to rescan early next week before we step him up again…

Externally everything looks fine but with the horses best interests at the forefront of our minds… we’d rather err on the side of caution and see that internally it all looks the same as it did a few months ago… 🤞

He’s a huge horse and he feels like he has the heart to match.

His owners Mike and Tash Tudor have been very patient with him and I hope he rewards them for their patience. His last race was over 2 years ago now and with some luck he’ll hopefully make an encouraging return to the racecourse.

He was a bit of a tearaway previously and we’ve worked hard to try to help him keep a lid on his enthusiasm.

He’ll be trained by Dave Roberts and all being well shall be tearing up the turf 👀 come the autumn. 🍂

If Mexican Stan was auditioning for Britains Got Talent - I’m pretty sure he’d try to convince Simon Cowell that tail swishing was an art form….
Realistically not sure Simon Cowell can actually see out of his eyes anymore after how much work he’s had done on them - so we could probably tell him that Stan was a breakdancing horse and he’d put him straight into the final anyway….

Unfortunatly for Simon Cowell - Stan hasn’t got time to audition for Britains Got Talent because he’s too busy training to be a racehorse with a spectacular ‘go faster tail’.

I fear it’s this signature move that propelled him into speeds previously unmatched by any racehorse in history last year whilst bronking which meant I actually fell off and momentarily mangled my knee….

Anyway… I think I’d already told you of Stan’s return … but, I thought you all deserved to see that this year - he really means business… 💪

Double eviction this week…. 👋 (The big brother theme tune of old follows this statement) - maybe big brother theme tune has never changed but last time I watched it Davina was still presenting it - so I’d be surprised if it’s still got the same jingle.

Mahons Glory and Africa Charm have both left in the last 24 hours.

We’ve only got 4 on site currently which will hopefully give us a bit of a chance to catch up on some painting and other exciting jobs … like weeding, stone picking and fencing.

But first - a cup of tea. ☕️ and several (hundred) biscuits. 🍪 🐽

Mahons Glory and Africa Charm cool down after an away day yesterday.

Both now on the cusp of heading into training and both a pleasure to work with yet they’re completely different.

One horse nearly entering his veteran years (Mahons) who’ll be 10 in January and one 3 year old who’s racing career over jumps hasn’t even begun yet.

3 year old power house Africa Charm enjoying herself in the jumping paddock earlier this evening.

With Lucy as her ever dependable lead horse Africa had a great first experience of jumping with a jockey on board.

Seemingly finding time for a quick handstand to test Lee was awake.

Looking forward to seeing how she progresses once she heads to Henry’s next week for owners Friends of the Ballygarry. ❤️💚

Mexican Stan and Lucy are back! 🙌

There was a bit of an argument earlier when Lucy said she was more Mexican than Stan would ever be.

Since then he keeps shouting ‘Hola’ and ‘Taco Tuesdays’.

Presley employed as adjudicator said he’s not getting involved - but, has been spotted wearing a sombrero. 👀
