Living my wild horse girl dream... ✨🐴

Today I'm clearing out winter stables, poo picking fields, keeping two youngsters entertained, checking on two donkeys, two Shetlands, Miss Penelope, six goats, three sheep, two dogs, a tarantula, a gecko... and somewhere in amongst all that, attempting to remember whether I've actually eaten lunch.

The soundtrack says "Wild Horses."

The reality says "Wheelbarrow."

And honestly? I wouldn't swap this beautiful, muddy, slightly unhinged life for anything. 💚

Some people wake up ready to take on the world.

Billy wakes up ready for a nap. 😴🤎

I stood there giving it the full "wakey wakey, Billy..." speech while he slowly drifted further and further into dreamland. Not a care in the world. No deadlines. No stress. Just sunshine, a full tummy, and the confidence of a donkey who knows absolutely nothing urgent is happening today.

Honestly... we could all learn a thing or two from Billy. 🥹

Come and meet our sleepy boy and the rest of the Meadowview herd. They’re guaranteed to make you smile.

🐑 SHEEP SHEARING UPDATE 🐑

A few days ago the girls went off for their annual haircut at Wedgehill Farm.

I was expecting them to spend a few days recovering from the shock.

Instead they've come back with the confidence of supermodels. 😂

Little has discovered she actually has legs.

Peep is now striking poses for every camera she sees.

And Bo remains completely unbothered, unstoppable, and convinced she owns Meadowview.

Thank you again to everyone who checked in after shearing day. The girls are happy, healthy, and thoroughly enjoying their new summer wardrobes. ❤️🐑

☀️ Sometimes the simplest moments become the most magical.

A camping trip, a little pony called Miss Penelope, a few careful plaits, and a gentle walk in the sunshine.

No screens.
No rush.
No pressure.

Just fresh air, happy children, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after the holiday ends. 💚🐴

These are the moments I love most at Meadowview.

🐑✂️ SHEEP SHEARING DAY ✂️🐑

Today Little Bo Peep and Little had their very first sheep shearing experience… and honestly, we were fascinated from start to finish.

We arrived at Wedgehill Farm to what can only be described as a full-blown sheep shearing production line 😭💀 Woolly sheep going in… tiny bald sheep coming out the other side moments later. Absolute Wallace & Gromit energy.

Watching the teamwork, speed, calm handling and sheer graft involved was seriously impressive. A proper powerhouse of a team all working together like clockwork. The skill involved was amazing to witness firsthand.

Meanwhile my girls went from fluffy marshmallows to sleek little summer models in record time. I genuinely forgot sheep even had little stick legs under all that wool.

A huge thank you to everyone at Wedgehill Farm for taking such lovely care of Little Bo Peep and Little today 💚 They came home calm, cool, happy… and about 3 sizes smaller.

Little Bo Peep is currently adjusting to life without her winter duvet.

There’s something really special about British summer evenings… 🌿

Kids running barefoot.
People slowing down for once.
The sound of laughter carrying across fields.
The sky doing that golden soft thing before sunset.

No filters. No fancy plans.
Just fresh air, tired happy children, muddy shoes, and memories being made quietly in the background.

I think these are the moments we’ll all miss one day.

Hope you’ve all had a beautiful bank holiday weekend 💚

Today the herd moved into their summer paddocks… and honestly, I think my soul needed it as much as they did.

The donkeys straight onto the buttercups.
The ponies belly-deep in grass.
The sound of absolutely nothing except birds, chewing, and the wind moving through the meadow.

This is the part people don’t always understand about animals…

They regulate us.
They ground us.
They bring us back to ourselves.

And on days where life feels loud, complicated, heavy or overstimulating… this place feels like medicine.

Welcome to summer at Meadowview ☀️🌿

If you’ve ever needed somewhere to breathe again, you’ll understand this feeling.

Somewhere between the mud, the rain, the wheelbarrows, the barking, the grafting, and the chaos… you suddenly realise this is actually the good stuff. 🤎

Just me hauling elm through the field while Pip and Choc contribute absolutely nothing except emotional support and tiny soggy faces from the wheelbarrow. 😭🐾

And honestly?
I wouldn’t swap these little moments for anything.

This life isn’t polished. It’s muddy boots, wet hair, aching arms, animals yelling at me from every direction, and two dogs acting like retired Victorian ladies being chauffeured around the farm.

But there’s something really beautiful about building a life that feels real.

Even on the rainy days. 🌧️✨

Everyone loves the “after” clip… the peaceful grazing, the calm energy, the herd all settled together. 🌿🐴

But real horsemanship?
That happens in the middle of the hoo-ha.

Miss Penelope came in today like the tiny blonde CEO of violence 💀 bossing poor Noel and Pickle about, ears flying, everyone getting dramatic, and for a moment it was all a bit “Jeremy Kyle: Equine Edition.” 😂

What you don’t see on camera is the quiet work in between.
The breathing.
The energy regulation.
The reading body language.
The moving feet calmly.
The leadership.
The patience.

Not punishment. Not fear. Not dominance.
Just communication, boundaries, reassurance, and helping everyone feel safe again.

And THAT moment at the end?
Three ponies grazing quietly together in the rain, nervous systems settled, no drama, no chaos… that’s the bit that makes my heart explode. 🤎

Because this right here?
This is my passion. 🌿

Some mornings just hit different. ☀️☕

Sat here with my tea, listening to the donkeys braying, goats bouncing about like tiny hooligans, ponies half asleep in the sunshine… and I had one of those little moments where you stop and think:

bloody hell… this life is beautiful.

Not perfect. Not easy. But beautiful.

Go stand in the sun this morning.
Take the slow sip.
Listen to the birds.
Stroke your dog.
Breathe a little deeper.

The world feels softer when you actually stop long enough to look at it. 💚
