Moby and Winnie were having a relax session today, working on building a reset station protocol. We also built on the Thinking Game, and finished with some play with the flirt pole.

COULD YOU HELP?

Like many rescues, we tend to wait for a particularly deserving case before asking for donations. It sounds calculating but the reality is that it is an effective way of fund-raising.

This time, we're asking for help for the very unglamourous reason that we owe over £2000 in vet fees - with another £500 owed in transport, fostering expenses and behaviour assessments.

We make ends meet, mostly, with young dogs with no health or behaviour issues - but the costs for more complex dogs (who we work hard to help where we can) are always more than our adoption fees - often hundreds of pounds more.

Older English setter Nidge for instance, has cost us £500 in vet fees (neuter, vaccinations, dental, blood test) and £120 to transport to the UK - against the adoption fee of £175 we ask for 10yr old dogs (which we have not got yet as he is on trial).

We've just entirely waived an adoption fee for a dog in Ireland as she had a phantom pregnancy within three weeks of rehoming her that ended up costing her new home a lot of money.

Below is how much we have in the bank account as we go into a new week. It's a source of considerable stress.

So lovely to see Parker and Dan again today! It's been a while, so today was about establishing where they were at with hunting and retrieving, great to see it's still all there, and with a much improved hand delivery!

Ted and Dexter came for an introductory session today, smashed their foundations so we had a look at their impulse control and retrieve drive! Dexter is a new fan of dummies 😍
