⚠️ Kennel Cough ⚠️
Hi all 👋🏼 I’ve recently heard of a few kennel cough cases around locally, so just wanted to post a gentle reminder to keep an eye on your doggies for any signs of coughing, gagging, sneezing, or being under the weather.

If your pooch does develop any symptoms, it is recommended you contact your vet immediately, please then pop me a message as soon as possible and keep them home from walks until they’re better and out of their isolation period.
This is the best way to help stop it spreading and keep all our furry friends safe. 🐾

I am (as per usual) being very cautious about coming into contact with ‘outsider dogs’ whilst out on our group walks, and as further reassurance the car and walking equipment is always cleaned and disinfected thoroughly to avoid illness such as the above..

🦅🌿 Ground-nesting bird Season 🌿🦅
Recently I’ve been asked by a couple of Owners how I adapt my dog walks to meet the requirements of ‘Ground-nesting Bird Season’ which runs between March-August. As per the guidelines under the Dorset Dogs Dog Walking Charter (which we are proud members of), dogs should be kept on leads around heathland where maps and banners show birds are likely nesting. Whilst this does restrict us dog walkers to where we can let pooches off-lead, this is easily managed - for example, this morning Ziggy, Stevie & Murray started and ended their walk with a short time on lead whilst walking through heathland to and from the fields (where dogs are allowed off-lead again).
90% of the walk was still spent off-lead, pooches were sniffing quite happily regardless of the on-lead time, and birds were protected where possible. 👍🏻
