Workshop information for PGTC Scotland May 2026

Here's what is on offer in the workshops run by Lisa.

Workshop 1 – Hunting Games Workshop
Beating, rough shooting, picking up and peg dogs, spaniels really can do it all! But can they be pets too?

Lisa will be presenting a workshop on pet spaniel gundogs, which includes problem prevention & problem solving, how training for ‘pet life’ and ‘working life’ are interchangeable. One of these training elements is creating a good connection with your spaniel through hunting games, even if there is no intention for your spaniel to do a day’s work!

This workshop is suitable for all levels as the exercises will be tailored to each dog, with lots of opportunity for questions and demonstrations.

Workshop 2 – Stop To Flush and Marking

Fine tuning your hunting skills, with the all-essential stop to flush! How to start, how to put it into practice during the hunting pattern and how to keep the steadiness while your dog marks the fall.

Today is National Black Dog Day!

🚨 reminder for everyone that there are no classes this week 🚨

I’ve been competing this weekend with some of the best people, friends who I have made through competition 🤍 🏵️

I am now sat in glorious sunshine 😮 on the balcony catching up with admin before a few days of exploring and then finishing of teaching for the amazing Gosia at

💦 The retrievers starting a wet day 💦

They don’t really care about the rain 🌧️

They care about fetching 🧨

This morning we looked at memory retrieves 💭

Leaving the dummy behind and then going back for it some time later in different parts of the wood and path 🌲

👏 A round of applause for Arthur 👏

After some work on his stop whistle on Friday (see photo with blue sky ☁️)

I asked the geese to wander down today as a distraction 🪿

(You think I’m joking … I’m not)

Here you can see he sets off at quite a shift towards them 💨

But stops on his stop whistle 🛑 perfectly

Mum’s thrown reward was abit pants 🩲but it happens to us all so don’t worry 😉

Usually we throw the toy to him, but the shortfall in this instance could have been useful to bring him with us away from the geese 🪿

Who knows what breed he is? 🤔
