Working Spaniel Community Launches Memorial Auction to Support Families of Fallen Members.

Working Spaniel, the UK’s premier platform for spaniel enthusiasts and professionals, is proud to announce the launch of a special Memorial Fundraising Auction.

This initiative aims to raise vital funds for the families of two beloved members of the gundog community who sadly passed away this week.

The auction, hosted directly on the Working Spaniel website (www.workingspaniel.co.uk), will feature a wide range of lots donated by community members and businesses.

These include professional gundog equipment, stud dog services from top-tier lines, expert training sessions, and unique countryside experiences.

"Our community is built on a shared passion for working spaniels and our way of life,. "The loss of our two friends has been felt deeply by everyone. This auction is our way of coming together to honour their legacy and provide tangible support to their families during this incredibly difficult time."

The auction platform will feature a live bidding system and a real-time "Total Raised" counter, allowing the community to see the collective impact of their contributions.

All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the families of the late gents.

Working Spaniel is currently calling for further donations to add to the auction lots.

What a season. One of those moments where we stop, look at the trophies, and realise how lucky we are.

Raine absolutely smashed it this year — a novice field trial win, an open field trial win, and then finishing it all off with 2nd at the Springer Spaniel Championships at only 2.5 years old.

C**t stepped up in style too, taking his novice trial win and picking up Gun’s Choice along the way.

And Ivy… ending her career the only way she knows how — winning her final ever open field trial. Retired now, but leaving on the highest of highs.

So much to reflect on from a brilliant season. Looking forward to what’s next... Now it’s time to shift focus to the younger dogs coming through and see where the next chapter takes us.

And just like that, the 2025 trialling season has come to an end!

After spending the last two days competing at the Springer Spaniel Championships, we’re heading home with big smiles on our faces.

With four trial wins this season — two Novice Stakes with Raine and C**t, and two Open Stakes with Raine and Ivy — it’s been a fantastic season and one we’re incredibly proud of.

The Springer Championships concluded with a nail-biting third run between myself and Raine, and our good friend Simon Dixon with Pepsi, to decide the overall winner. Pepsi was simply in a different league on her third run and fully deserved the win.

🥈 That left us very happily taking 2nd place! 🥈

We were also honoured to be awarded the J.J. Greatorex Memorial Trophy, presented to the highest-placed dog whose handler was running at the Championships for the first time.

Considering Raine is only two and a half years old, there’s still plenty to learn — and plenty of time left on the clock.
