🐾✨ Beautiful Bonnie visited our Grappenhall practice yesterday for a scale and polish, and she was an absolute superstar! ✨🐾

Bonnie was wonderfully behaved throughout her procedure and afterwards enjoyed plenty of cuddles with our nurse Lydia while she waited for her dad to come and collect her. ❤️

For being such a brave girl, Bonnie earned herself a bravery certificate! 🏅 Not only will she be feeling much better with her lovely clean teeth, but we’re sure her owners will appreciate her fresher breath too! 😁🦷

This little cutie Cookie was speyed today at our Grappenhall surgery. She’s spent very little time in a kennel as you can see and instead has insisted on continuous cuddles both pre and post surgery! 🩷🐶

As temperatures are set to soar this Bank Holiday weekend it is vital to know the signs of heatstroke and act FAST.

If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke:
Immediately douse them with cold water - the colder the better!
Contact your vet straight away while continuing to cool them.

Avoid covering your dog with wet towels, although this may seem helpful, towels can trap heat against the body and slow the cooling process.

Heat stroke is a life threatening emergency, and every minute counts, Early recognition and rapid cooling can save lives.

Please keep walks to the cooler parts of the day.

Heatstroke cases in pets are all too common; share the below far and wide!

Many dogs get heatstroke when their owners take them out during high temperatures. Let's prevent heatstroke by knowing when it's safe to take your dog outside, and please contact us if you think your dog might have heatstroke!

And remember to keep your pets hydrated and are given plenty of shade. Enjoy the sunshine, but please keep tabs on your pets

Our vet Katy and her girlfriend Emma are taking on the Edinburgh Half Marathon this Sunday, 24th May, in aid of VetLife! 🩺🏃‍♀️

Having both recently graduated and started their careers in the veterinary profession, this charity is one that means a lot to them. VetLife provides vital support for the wellbeing and mental health of people working within the veterinary industry.

They’ve both been working incredibly hard with training ahead of the big day, and we’re so proud to support them as they take on this challenge for such an important cause.
