A LITTLE UPDATE ON INSURANCE CLAIMS

We know waiting for insurance claims can be frustrating, and we completely understand that you’d like them processed as quickly as possible. We just wanted to let everyone know that we currently have one dedicated nurse managing insurance claims for thousands of registered clients.

Alongside caring for our patients, they work incredibly hard to complete and submit every claim as promptly and accurately as possible.

We kindly ask for your patience while your claim is being processed. Once submitted, insurance companies can often take 4–6 weeks (or sometimes longer) to assess and process claims, which is unfortunately outside of our control.

Please be assured that every claim is important to us, and we are working through them as quickly as we can. Your kindness and understanding mean so much to our team, and we truly appreciate your patience while we do our very best.

Thank you for supporting us as we continue to care for both you and your pets. 💚

GRASS SEED ALERT 🌾🐶
Small Seed, Big Problem!

We treated a lovely dog who needed a grass seed removed from the top of their paw. Thankfully, they came in promptly and the seed was removed before it caused more serious problems.

Grass seeds may seem harmless, but they have sharp, pointed ends that allow them to burrow into the skin. Once they’ve worked their way in, they can’t work their way back out and can travel through the body, causing painful infections, abscesses and, in some cases, requiring surgery to remove.

Common places grass seeds get stuck:
• Between the toes and around the paws
• Inside the ears
• Around the eyes
• Up the nose
• In the coat, especially around the armpits and groin

Signs to look out for:
• Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
• Limping or holding a paw up
• Swelling, redness or a lump
• Head shaking or scratching at the ears
• Sudden sneezing or nosebleeds
• Squinting, redness or discharge from an eye

How you can help prevent problems:
• Check your dog’s paws, ears and coat after every walk, especially through long grass.
• Keep the fur between their toes trimmed if it grows long.
• Avoid walking through long, dry grass where possible during grass seed season.

If you notice any of the signs above, don’t wait to see if it improves. The sooner a grass seed is found and removed, the better the outcome for your pet.

If you’re concerned your dog may have picked up a grass seed, give our team a call on 01925 977 622 - we’re always happy to help 💚
