We are looking for a Veterinary Care Assistant / Student Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Victoria Park Vets.

We are an independent family run veterinary practice in Warrington who truly values our team, our clients and their pets.

An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our highly qualified team. We are looking for an enthusiastic pet loving individual to help grow our family practice.

The main duties involved in this role include:

· Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses with clinical procedures and patient handling and restraint.
· Maintain a high level of asepsis throughout the practice, including dog and cat ward, theatre, consultation rooms and prep room.
· Ensuring all areas are adequately stocked with supplies and consumables.
· Assist the veterinary nurses with inpatient care including feeding, walking and cleaning.
· Assist with in patient procedures such as bandage changes, blood sampling and catheter placement.
· Assisting with the sterilisation of medical equipment as directed.

WE'VE HAD AN UNUSUAL PATIENT VISIT OUR PRACTICE🦇

We recently had a bat brought into the practice for assessment after being found grounded and in need of help. Our veterinary team carried out a health check to ensure there were no obvious injuries or immediate concerns, and we’re pleased to say the bat has now been safely transferred to a specialist bat rescue centre for ongoing care and rehabilitation.

Bats are incredible native wildlife species and play a hugely important role in our ecosystem by helping to control insect populations. All bat species in the UK are protected by law, so if you ever find a bat that appears injured or unable to fly, it’s important to contact a local bat rescue or wildlife organisation for advice.

"Honestly can’t recommend these guys enough. Your always greeted with smiles receptionist are so helpful and friendly. The vets go above and beyond I had an emergency after my 8 week old puppies ate a plant and wouldn’t stop been sick the lovely vet stayed late to help my pups without hesitation. The prices are so reasonable. If you want a family run vets that really love animals and are not just after your money then go here. The care is so personal and thoughtful."
