FREE BOAS ASSESSMENT

Given how hot it was last summer, and the current warmer weather, we've decided to offer FREE BOAS assessments with Sarah, for all Brachycephalic dog breeds (flat faced dogs) including; Pugs, Bulldogs and Frenchies.

BOAS surgery widens the nostrils, shortens the soft pallet and removes the tonsils and inverted laryngeal saccules when necessary. The cost of BOAS surgery will also include: Full Bloods | Fluids | Chest X-Rays.

As we head into the warmer months, flat faced dog breeds struggle a lot more with their breathing, so please take extra care when you are out and about. We suggest no unnecessary car journeys and only walk them at dawn or dusk when the temperature isn't as high.

If you would like to book in for a FREE BOAS assessment, just give us a call on 01925 977 622 and speak to a member of our team.

WEATHER WARNINGS ☀️
SIGNS OF HEATSTROKE & HOW TO ACT

With the hot weather continuing throughout the week, we wanted to highlight the importance of keeping your pets cool in the summer months.

SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE:
Panting heavily | Dribbling | Wobbling | Bright red gums | Vomiting | Frothing at the mouth | Hot to touch

HOW TO ACT:
If your pet experiences any of these symptoms, it is important to contact our Vets IMMEDIATELY on 01925 977 622. In the meantime, you need to start cooling your pets SAFELY!

NEVER USE COLD WATER OR ICE - This could cause shock.
Put them on top of a wet towel to start cooling them.
Pour room temp water on their paws and the outside of the ears, then slowly on the whole body and use a fan or air-conditioning to cool the air around them.
Give them cool (not freezing cold) water to drink.
Move your pet into a cool space that is out of direct sunlight.
Transport your pet in an air-conditioned vehicle and continue cooling them on the journey to the practice.

If you have any worries or concerns, just give us a call on 01925 977 622 and speak to a member of our team.

IMAGE WARNING ⚠️
Nose stitch up 🐶

Poor Lucy’s nose was bitten badly by another dog, so she needed Vet Archie to stitch it back together.

After Lucy’s procedure, her nose was looking really good until she stared licking at the stitches which opened the wound back up.

However, fast forward 2 weeks later and Lucy’s nose is healing really well! Her owner is going to send over a photo once her stitches have called out.

You were very brave Lucy! So glad you’re making a good recovery 🥰🐶
