The cat is an adult male, unneutered with no collar and no microchip. He is a white/grey tabby colouring and was found on Rosebank/Pepper Street in Lymm.

If you believe you are/know the cat's owner please call the practice.

💚 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 💚

May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month (VNAM), where we highlight and appreciate all the incredible work Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) do within our industry!

Each day, we'll be posting one part of an RVN's job role to highlight the important role they play within practice.

What is an RVN?

An RVN is a Registered Veterinary Nurse that has earned a professional qualification and registered with the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) to follow strict professional standards.

RVN is an extremely versatile role from assisting in surgery, monitoring anaesthetics, running clinics and consultations, undertaking additional training and advanced certificates to better their skills and work alongside Veterinary surgeons to care for your pet and protect their welfare.

🐾 Information on Animal Health Certificates 🐾

An Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is an official document issued by a vet that confirms your pet meets the health and vaccination requirements for travel to EU countries. The AHC declares:

🐾 The pet's identity, microchip number and vaccination status (including Rabies vaccination)
🐾 The AHC is signed and completed by an Official Veterinarian (OV)
🐾 The AHC must be issued within 10 days of your travel date.

If you would like to arrange an AHC appointment, please call the practice and we can discuss your travel destination and dates to ensure your appointments take place within the correct time frame.

🐾 Changes to Pet Passports 🐾

Here is everything you need to know about today's changes to pet passports!

🌍 EU Pet Passports issued to GB residents are no longer valid for EU travel.
🌍 Animal Health Certificates (AHC) are now required for EU travel for dogs, cats and ferrets.
🌍 Entry rules when returning back to GB remain the same.

We advise all pet owners planning to travel with their pet check the entry requirements for their destination country, and check the government website for updates and information

🌟 Meet the Team🌟

Hello!
My name is Harriet, and I'm a Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN). I joined the team in May 2024 as an Animal Care Assistant (ACA) and started my nursing training in January 2026!

I enjoy all aspects of surgical nursing and really enjoy my college days where I always learn something new!

I took on my tabby Stevie from Beech House in November 2024, and as you can see, we're very close 🤣

Outside of work, I love to read and watch horror movies. 📚🎃

🐰 Easter Toxin Awareness🐰

With Easter just around the corner we wanted to remind you of the dangers of chocolate to our furry family members.

All types of chocolate are toxic to pets but dark chocolate is the most toxic. Ingestion of chocolate can cause vomiting and tremors which can lead to serious internal organ problems.

If you suspect your pet has ingested any amount of chocolate, please call the practice to speak to a team member as soon as possible.
