Rocky's Paws

Rocky's Paws Dog walker & Pet care service, Dishforth Hello, welcome to Rockys's Paws, my name is Amanda & Rocky’s Paws is my dog walking & pet check-in business.

It’s named after one of my own dogs, Rocky, who was a much-loved rescue dog that my partner & I took some few years ago (he loved water, as you can see from profile photo he had just been playing in the river). I set up my business after our dog walker left to move down south & it also gave me more time to spend with Rocky as being a rescue he needed a bit more care & attention. I have always had

a love of animals, dogs in particular, as they fascinate me! Rocky passed away a few years ago (old age) & we still miss him now. We have another collie, Zak, who is very much loved too & he joins in on some of the walks. I am based in Dishforth & I grew up in Dallowgill in the Dales next to a farm. Over the years I have been lucky enough to have many pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, Yorkshire terriers & border collies; one very tame guinea pig was best friends with the Yorkie & visitors were always surprised that we had a guard guinea pig! I always want the best care for my dog & I know what it’s like trying to balance a hectic lifestyle with keeping family pets. I aim to help with your dog walking and pet sitting requirements. Having a pet, whatever variety, as part of your family is very rewarding - that lovely happy face waiting for you when you open the door from a busy day at work, never judging you & always pleased to see you. Walks are fun, stimulating, invigorating, entertaining & great exercise for your dog (and me!). I aim to walk no more than 4 dogs at any one time to ensure your pet gets the utmost care & attention. I take dog walking seriously & your dog’s welfare is my top priority. Dogs are walked for a full half an hour or hour (whichever you prefer) as travel time is not included in the time I charge for. Upon returning from our walks it’s time to clean paws (and muddy tums if needed!), fill up water bowls, give your dog a treat (if permitted) and then I will leave your tired, trusted pet to have their well-earned snooze. I am CRB checked & insured. Please be assured that any information I keep on clients is securely locked away & any keys held are marked up in a coded system, not marked with any address details. Whatever your dog walking or pet minding needs please give me a call to discuss your requirements; I will try my best to help where I can.

Some lovely spring time weather at last 😃. It has been nice out walking without so much mud mud & more mud 😅! My little groups of pooches have been enjoying walks & play out & about 🐶.

A few of my walks are nice gentle ambles about as i have a few lovely "oldies" (or senior pooches). They may be getting on a bit & not able to walk as far or as fast as they used to but they still love to be out with their chums. It is great to see them enjoying a social plod about & sniff round 🐶.

Its the Easter school hols soon, which means i will be busy looking after cats, guinea pigs & chickens while owners are away on their holidays. Thats another part of my job that i love doing 🐱🐹🐔😃.

Here are just a few photos from walks over the last few weeks.

Well, how do i sum up the first few weeks of 2026...hhhmmmm, mud mud & more mud! 😲😆🌧.

Washing machine is on constantly washing all the dog towels & blankets after cleaning up pooches after their walks. This wet weather doesn't stop me or my little pooch crew getting out & about & having fun😄🐶. Here are a few photos from the last few weeks.

Its school half term soon so i have some lovely cats & guinea pigs to look after while their owners are away on their hols 🐱🐹.

I do love my job 🥰 but i have to admit i hope the weather improves soon 🤣! Then again there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing 😁.

ROCKY'S PAWS, DISHFORTH
(Dog walking/ Cat & small furry animal care) - Hello 2026 😃

Into the New Year with a bang! Cold, frosty, invigorating walks with all my lovely little walking crew 🐶. The excited, happy welcome i get from my furry customers always make me happy 🥰.

I have been a dog walker for over 12 years & i love my job! I aim to take great care of your dogs. I only walk a few dogs at once (usually 2 or 3). I find this enables me to keep a close eye on them & make sure they are all having a nice time on their walks. For dogs that are a bit nervous or if owners prefer i do also offer solo walks, just your dog & me 🐶

At this time of year, lots of people start thinking of holidays. Don't forget to book holiday care for your pets too! I am already taking bookings for my pop in service for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs & other small furries 🐈🐇🐀 School hols tend to be my busiest

Please contact me for more information (sorry i don't do dog day care or boarding).

Here we are in December 🎄. Weather has been a bit wet lately but it hasn't spoilt walks with my little crew 🐶. Lots of play time with their chums, burning off the winter blues 😄🐶.

Autumn is here & even though it turned wet & breezy as soon as we hit September then October, it is great to be out & about with all my lovely crew 🐶. Two more gorgeous labs have joined my regular crew 🥰.

Autumn walks are always spectacular with all the gorgeous colours of the leaves on trees, shrubs & other vegetation 🍁🍂.

I still have a couple of walk slots available. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Here are a few photos over the last few weeks. I love my job 😃😍

Another week has flown by! I have been looking after more cats & guinea pigs this week. Lots of lovely cuddles with puss cats 🐱. The guineas have the best indoor run & den that i have ever seen. They are very lucky guineas 😃.

Great dog walking weather this week after last week's very hot weather. The dogs enjoyed running about with their chums.

With dog walking i only take a few at once. My usual is 2 or 3 (max of 4 if very well behaved). I personally find that little crews of pooches that get on well make the walk experience more enjoyable for them & me. They interact with each other more, are more relaxed & i can keep an eye on them easily to ensure they are happy & safe on walks.

I also do 1 to 1 walks for dogs who are happier walking on their own. One of my one to one walks is with a gorgeous little old fella, whose eyesight is not good, he can't walk far but he just loves being out for a good sniff round. Walks are not just for exercise, they are mental stimulation. I love to do these walks too as I know it makes him happy 🐶

I love my job 🥰. Some of this week's photos...

Coming to the end of a very hot week 🥵. Its been mostly a week of early morning walks, mooching around in shade & garden pop ins for dogs as far too hot for normal walks 🐶. Garden pop ins are where I let them out in their own garden & spend time with them so that they dont get bored.

I had a quiet day one day, so took pooches on a little adventure towards Pateley in search of somewhere cool & shaded so they could just have a sniff about & a lie on the cool grass. They enjoyed that. Some stunning scenery along the way too.

I have had an fun & interesting week looking after cats, guinea pigs & chickens too. From lovely cuddles with cats to an escapologist chicken! Chicken is safely back in her pen. Well, thats a fun story....when I arrived at their house I was greeted by puss cat who came running to me for his usual tickle & cuddle (always makes my day 🥰) and running behind him was a chicken, who should have been in her pen🐔😮! Eeek, how did she get out!?! I coaxed her back into her pen with food (after a bit of running round like in a comedy sketch). At first look the pen was secure, no holes or gaps at all. As I stood in kitchen with puss cat, giving him a tickle, looking out the window towards the pen, I puzzled over how chicken had escaped....then I got my answer...i saw chicken poke about with her beak at bottom of fence & lift up a tiny bit of wire, stick her head through & wriggled out again 😲! And to make matters worse her pen mate then followed too, aarrgghh! Wow, the gap was miniscule, what a naughty but clever chicken! Took me a bit longer to coax her back in the this time & got her pen mate back in too. Phew!. Well, that was my morning workout! Secured wire down even more with planters & stones. So far that has worked 😃. Hope i haven't jinxed it saying that!

Never a dull moment in my line of work! I love my job 🐶🐈🐰🐹🐔🥰
