Glad to say today's big appointments went well!! 🥳🥳

We seen both the physio and the consultant today, who are pleased with the progress so far.

10 weeks on and I'm still shuffling around, improving slowly but surely, and finding all the little daily things a little easier. 🩼

I sometimes wonder if I'm just being a massive wimp not jumping around yet... but learning that your brain gets feedback from the bone that it's still broken (there's no nerve feedback from the metal!) makes me realise how much of a mind game the whole thing is just to trust to put weight down the leg properly.

And how incredible it is I can walk at all really... Thanks to the incredible doctors that have replaced the centre of the bone with metal!

There is a gap down the tibia where the bone was fractured into too many fragments to save, so some had to be removed... This hasn't bridged yet, but there is the startings of new connective bone growth there.

So ironically seeing the bones very much still broken has helped immensely 😂
I feel much more relaxed about the healing process now - it's encouraging me not to push too hard too quickly and just to continue building strength as we are. We will get there!

Another lot of x-rays in 3 months time, where we would hope to see the two bones connected by then. 🤞

Still got a way to go but for now it's a mini celebration of a massive step in the right direction 🥳 woohoo!!
