Rabbit Awareness Week!🐰🐾

Join us at Park House Veterinary Centre as we celebrate Rabbit Awareness Week. It’s time to highlight the special care our fluffy companions need and deserve!💕

Rabbits are one of the most popular pets in the Uk and commonly the most misunderstood! Many rabbits suffer in silence due to outdated advice and lack of awareness.

Here’s how you can give your rabbits the healthiest, happiest life possible:

🐾Provide a spacious and enriched environment for your bunnies to hop and stretch their legs!
🐾Feed a balanced, nutritious diet!
🐾Keep them in pairs, rabbits thrive with a friendly companion.
🐾Get regular vet check ups. Rabbits need these too!

Meet the Team🩶🐾🩺

Time to introduce another wonderful member of the Veterinary Care Assistant team- Melody!

Melody joined us in 2024, with all her knowledge, hard work and experience she is a very valuable member on the team🩶 She completed her Veterinary Care Assistant course in 2021, and then went onto complete her Animal Management Level 3 Diploma in 2023. Melody has also had experience in dog grooming, so is no stranger to all dog breeds, small and large🐶
Melody has a passion for animal nutrition and loves learning about different pet foods and which foods are best for our furry friends!
Melody is always finding new ways the thrive in her role, and enjoys learning something new everyday in the Veterinary world🩺
Her kind and caring ways with our patients really shines through✨
Melody is also kept busy at home looking after her 3 cats Lola, Theo and Ava, her rabbit Sox, her dog Markey and hamster Ginnie, which she absolutely loves!

From her hard work and determination to her compassion and kindness, she brings so much to the team and we are very grateful!🩶

Meet Oscar and Simba!🤎🐾

This week we welcomed these two handsome boys to our practice for their castration procedures.

Both boys were so brave and received plenty of cuddles from our team. Here they are pictured with Veterinary Nurse Georgie and Student Veterinary Nurse Georgina. They are now back home getting plenty of rest!🐾

Neutering is an important part of your pets healthcare that helps reduce the risk of certain medical conditions, unwanted behaviours as well as contributing to the control of the pet population.

Well done Oscar and Simba, you were model patients!⭐️💕

Meet Fudge🤎

Fudge had recently been in with us for an echocardiogram, which is a scan of the heart. This helps to investigate any symptoms that could be heart related, and gives a detailed image of the heart for our Vets to look at and interpret results.

Fudge was such a good boy and was loving all the cuddles he was getting from our team!😍 He was even showing us all of his tricks, including giving high fives🖐️🐾

He was a pleasure to look after for the day!🤎

Meet the team🩶🐾🩺

This week, we are delighted to introduce to you another wonderful member of our Veterinary Care Assistant team - Mikaela!

Mikaela joined our team in 2024 after completing her level 2 diploma as a Veterinary Care Assistant which was then followed with an extended diploma in Animal Management Level 3.

Before joining us, Mikaela worked as a dog grooming assistant, so she’s no stranger to handling pups of all shapes, sizes and personalities🐾

One of Mikaela’s favourite parts of the job is running lab samples. She loves the science behind Veterinary Care and is always eager to learn more!

In the future, she would love to progress onto her Veterinary Nursing and we have no doubt she’ll be amazing at it.

She’s truly one of a kind and we are so lucky to have her on the team - and your pets are too!🤗

Say hello to Mocha!🐾

This gorgeous little German Short Haired Pointer visited us for her vaccinations but she’s no ordinary visitor… Mocha is the newest addition to our very own Head Veterinary Nurse Lauren’s family!💕

Here she is, posed up with our Veterinary Nurse, Georgie. Isn’t she just perfect!⭐️

Welcoming a new pup into the family is such an exciting time and we’re here to help you every step of the way! Here are a few puppy care tips to give your pets the best start in life:

🐾First vaccinations- it’s important to protect your pups from deadly diseases that could be life threatening.
🐾Flea and worming treatment- Puppies need regular flea and worming treatment as they grow, even indoor pups need protection.
🐾Microchipping- it is a legal requirement to get your pets microchipped! It’s a quick, safe, and permanent way to help reunite you with your dog.
🐾Nutrition- feed a high quality puppy diet tailored to your pup’s size and breed. Good food builds strong bones, shiny coats, and happy tummies!

Mocha is off to a great start and we’re so happy to be part of her journey! If you’ve welcomed a new puppy, we’d love to meet them.🤗💕

As it’s National Microchipping Awareness Month, now is the perfect opportunity to make owners aware of the importance of making sure pets are microchipped and all the details on their chip are all up to date.
🐾 Microchipping helps reunite lost pets with their owners.
🐾It is important for identification, so if the microchip is scanned they’ll have all the pets information, as well as the owners details too.
🐾Any change of ownership, address, or phone numbers should be changed, as this will make it easier to reunite pets and owners.
🐾It is a legal requirement to get dogs and cats microchipped🐶🐱

Sadly, we have had a deceased cat brought into us by a member of the public. It is a female tabby, no collar and no microchip. She was found in Brocton Area. If you believe this could be your cat please contact the practice on 01785 252 846

Meet the Team🩶🐾🩺

This week we are introducing another amazing member of our Veterinary Care Assistant team - Lucy!

Lucy first joined Veterinary in 2021 qualifying as a Veterinary Care Assistant after completing her Animal Nursing Assistant qualification. Lucy has worked in first opinion and referral practices, and joined us early 2025.

Lucy’s hard work, kindness, and the amazing care she gives to our patients makes her such an amazing part of the team🩶 She has brought a lot to our team with her knowledge and experience and willingness to help and support others. The care and compassion she shows patients and her love for all animals really shines through!🩶

At home Lucy also cares for her own fur babies, her cat Ginny🐱 and her two Guinea pigs, Ron and Hairy!🐹 and she also helps out at her local stables and enjoys horse riding with her friends🐴 so it just goes to show that Lucy has experience with all animals, great and small!

We are so lucky to have you as part of our amazing team Lucy!✨

Meet Olia!🐾🤩

Olia took a visit to us for a consult and decided the exam table just wasn’t her thing. Instead, Olia felt more at ease perched on the bin!

Here at Park House, we believe in meeting animals where they feel most comfortable. Every animal is different and we always try to adapt in ways that make your pets feel safe… even if that means turning the bin into a temporary throne!👑

Meet the Team 🩶🐾🩺

This week we’re introducing the wonderful Millie, who joined our team in March this year and has fitted in perfectly! 🌟

Millie’s passion for animal care is clear in everything she does – whether she’s comforting nervous patients, lending a helping hand on the wards, or making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. She brings calm, kindness and a brilliant work ethic to every shift, and we feel so lucky to have her on board!

When she’s not at the practice, Millie enjoys yoga, travelling and – this might be our favourite part – she runs a small hedgehog sanctuary in her village! How amazing is that?🦔

We’re so proud to have Millie as part of our VCA team. She’s already made such a difference, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she’ll continue to bring to the role! 💙
