Time for quilting lines ✨

Now the saddle cloth is under the sewing machine having the quilting lines stitched in place.

This stage helps secure all the layers together properly while also giving the saddle cloth its finished structure and appearance 🧵🐴

Every line is sewn in-house by us as part of our full saddle cloth making process.

The next stage in our saddle cloth process ✂️

Now that all the layers have been assembled, the final saddle pad shape can be cut out.

This is where it really starts to look like a finished product, transforming from oversized fleece and padding into the recognisable saddle cloth shape ready for the next stages of production 🐴

Every step is completed in-house by us from start to finish.

Step two of our saddle cloth making process 🧵

Here the padding is being attached to the fleece layers, creating the foundation of the saddle cloth before quilting begins.

At this stage everything is still left as a rough oversized cut, giving us room to work through the remaining processes before the final shape is trimmed and finished ✂️

Every layer is prepared in-house by us from start to finish.

Behind the scenes of our saddle cloth making process ✂️

First step — cutting the fleece.

At this stage the pieces are cut oversized on purpose, allowing extra room for the padding and quilting process that comes later. Every saddle cloth is prepared by hand in-house from the very beginning, giving us full control over quality and finish throughout the whole process 🧵

A little look back through the archives… 👇

A collage of some of the hoods we’ve made over the years.

Different weights, fits, and fabrics — all made for real use in all weathers, from lightweight protection right through to heavier winter options.

It’s always good to see how far things have come, but also how the core focus hasn’t changed: fit, function, and durability.
