🐑National Veterinary Receptionist Week 2026! 🐄

This week (19–25 April) honours the 'Frontline' team members. We’re shining a spotlight on the wonderful faces who greet you at the front desk here at Stapeley Veterinary Practices.

Our amazing veterinary receptionist/ SQP Donna and receptionist Clare are here to help keep everything running smoothly, from booking appointments to offering a warm welcome when you walk through our doors.

They’re often your first point of contact, and their care, organisation, and kindness make a real difference to our farmers every single day

🐑🌿 SHEEP WORM ALERT – ACT NOW 🌿🐑
⚠️ Current NADIS Forecast:
Conditions are ideal for a Nematodirus hatch, meaning lambs are at HIGH RISK right now.

🦠 What are worms?
Worms are parasites that live in a sheep’s gut, reducing growth, causing illness, and in severe cases, death.

At this time of year, Nematodirus battus is the biggest threat—especially to young lambs.

👶 Who is most at risk?
➡️ Lambs aged 6–12 weeks
➡️ Grazing pasture from last year

🚨 Signs to watch for:
• Sudden scouring (dirty back end)
• Dull, weak lambs
• Reduced feeding
• Rapid weight loss

✅ What you should do:
✔️ Check lambs daily
✔️ Act quickly if symptoms appear
✔️ Speak to your vet about the right wormer
✔️ Use pasture management to reduce risk
🌱 Early action saves lives and protects growth

📢 Stay informed. Stay prepared. Protect your flock.
