⚠️ UPDATE: ALL RESOLVED NOW ⚠️

We are currently experiencing issues with our internet and phone systems, so you may find it difficult to get through to us or experience delays in us responding.

Please bear with us while we work to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible.

If you have a genuine veterinary emergency, please come straight down to the practice and we will make sure your pet is seen.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we get this sorted 💚🐾

We’ll post an update as soon as normal service is restored.

I'm taking the field out on tour this summer. Well, it's only 3 dates but still taking the field out and about. Look out for the green gazebo, will be lovely to see you.
I usually attend the Longden Companion Dog Show but I am unable to this year. I will be sponsoring the event though along with Malthouse Vets.
I'm open to other suggestions as to where I could attend. I don't need any water or electric and the gazebo is 3m x 3m.

A few snippets from the last week in May 🐾

I’ve been trying to get better at capturing life at Malthouse Vets this week, but looking through my camera roll I’ve realised I’ve still missed so much!

There have been brave patients, happy reunions, surgeries, nurse clinics, team laughs, cuddles, and moments of our reception team going above and beyond. A particular shout out to Emma, who drove a client and her cat home on Tuesday afternoon so they didn’t have to walk in the heat of the sun. ❤️

So here are a few snapshots from the last week of May, but they’re only a tiny glimpse of what’s been going on behind the scenes.

I’ll try even harder next week! 📸

🚨🧦 Blue’s Sock Adventure! 🧦🚨

A few weeks ago, Blue came to see us feeling very sorry for himself. He had been vomiting, wasn’t eating, had lost weight and was becoming increasingly lethargic.

After examining him, we performed blood tests and imaging, which revealed large amounts of gas within his small intestine, a pattern highly suspicious for a foreign body obstruction.

With Blue becoming increasingly unwell, we proceeded with emergency surgery. The culprit? A very large sock! 🧦 It had travelled almost all the way through his small intestine before finally becoming stuck and causing a blockage.

To remove it, we performed an enterotomy, which is a surgical procedure where a small incision is made directly into the intestine so the obstruction can be safely removed.

The good news is that Blue made a fantastic recovery and is now back to his normal self. 🐾💙

At his recent check-up, I had the pleasure of presenting him with his very own Bravery Certificate, which he definitely earned after everything he went through… provided he promises to stop eating socks in the future! 😅

Well done, Blue. We’re all very proud of you. 🐶🏅

A big good luck to our RVN Sarah, who is now officially heading off on maternity leave 💚🐾

Sarah is an integral part of our nursing team and we’re going to miss her lots over the next few months. Thank you for everything you do for our clients and their pets.

Good luck Sarah, enjoy every minute 💚

Before and after of lovely Maddie’s scale and polish yesterday 🐾🦷🪥

Maddie was another recipient of our scale and polish offer, receiving a full general anaesthetic, pain relief, and a full mouth MOT for £290 ✨

She also went home with advice on how to look after her teeth going forwards, so hopefully we can help prevent the need for more extensive dental treatment in the future 🙏

Offers like these, alongside our Malthouse Wellness Plan, are all about making preventative healthcare more affordable and accessible. By taking action earlier, we can often help avoid more serious problems, and bigger bills, later down the line, whilst still giving pets the high standard of care they deserve ❤️
