June marks two months since we launched Home to Rest, and what an incredible two months it has been.

We’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly wonderful families and supporting them through one of the hardest moments—saying goodbye to their beloved pets.

We are deeply grateful for the trust you place in us during such a difficult time. Every pet we care for is treated with the same love, dignity, and compassion we would give our own.

🐾 Meet the Family Behind Home to Rest 🐾

We thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves!

Home to Rest is run by husband-and-wife team, Paul and Abi, alongside our daughter, Olivia, and our rather large collection of much-loved animals.
Paul is the familiar face many of you will meet. As the veterinary surgeon behind Home to Rest, he visits families in their homes, helping beloved pets pass peacefully and with dignity in their final moments.

Abi works mostly behind the scenes. If you've exchanged emails with us, received a sympathy card, or spoken to us about arrangements, there's a good chance it was Abi helping to support you through the process.
We've been married for 13 years and have a wonderful 9-year-old daughter, Olivia, who shares our love for animals.

Of course, no introduction would be complete without our pets...

🐾 Ruby, our nearly 14-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, was our first furry baby. Despite several battles with cancer and now having three legs, she continues to amaze us every day.

🐾 Angus (Gus), our 7-year-old Cocker Spaniel, keeps us on our toes. He's completely bonkers, endlessly energetic, and impossible not to love.

🐾 Vinnie, our 2-year-old Pomeranian rescue, holds a very special place in our hearts. After breaking both front legs, his previous owners sadly couldn't afford the treatment he needed. Paul couldn't bear the thought of saying goodbye to him, so with the help of some incredibly talented orthopaedic veterinary colleagues, Vinnie was given a second chance and became part of our family.

🐱 Sullivan, our Ragamuffin cat, and Squid, another rescue, complete our indoor gang.

🐢 We also share our home with Norman the rescue tortoise and a flock of much-loved ex battery hens.

As you may have guessed, we have a soft spot for animals in need and have always been passionate about giving them a second chance whenever we can.

Alongside Home to Rest, we also run a veterinary practice in Gravesend, which is often where our rescue stories begin!

Thank you for allowing us to support your families and your pets. Home to Rest isn't just our business—it's an extension of everything we believe in: compassion, kindness, and treating every pet as if they were our own. 💚
