Meet the Teams Tuesdays!

This week we're introducing Jack our Head RVN! 👨‍⚕️

How long have a Veterinary Nurse for? I qualified in January 2020 and joined the Medivet team in 2016, I have been at Oakdale for 4 years

What is your favourite pet or animal? My cat Molly-Monster is my favourite pet, my favourite animal is a Spotted Hyena! 😸

What is your favourite part of the job? I really like anaesthetic monitoring and technical parts of the job such as taking X-Rays and Lab work.

Tell us a fun fact about you? I met my wife on a trip to South Africa 🌍

We had the pleasure of seeing these two lovely cats today for their booster vaccinations 😸

On the left is Munch, a Scottish Fold, and on the right is Coco an American BobTail cross. They were both purrfect patients for Frances! 💚

Keeping up with regular boosters and health checks ensure these two stay protected and happy 🐾

Puppy Paradise yesterday for our Vet Fran 👩‍⚕️

Dolly, the Staffy pup, had her 2nd vaccination; whilst Nellie, the Labrador, had her first initial health check 🐶🐾

We’re kicking off are new ‘Meet the Team’ Series with Veterinary Nurse Clare! 👩‍⚕️

How long have a Veterinary nurse? After joining Medivet in 2015, I qualified as RVN in August 2022 and have been a part of the Oakdale team for 4 years 🥰

What is your favourite pet or animal? Labradors and Orcas 🐶🐳

What is your favourite part of the job? I enjoy doing Nurse Consultations and meeting all our wonderful clients 💚

Tell us a fun fact about you? I was fortunate to win a trip to South Africa through Medivet’s partnership with the Wilderness Foundation, supporting their vital conservation work. During the trip, I had the incredible opportunity to work hands-on with rhinos and elephants, a true once-in-a-lifetime experience that allowed me to witness these magnificent animals in their natural habitat 🦏🐘✈

Meet Calamity 😸

This little sweetheart was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) earlier this year, this was treated with a long course of medication and regular blood tests. Calamity was a superstar ⭐️ throughout and is now thankfully in remission 🥳

FIP is a viral disease caused by a feline coronavirus, which makes the cats immune system overreact. Whilst cats get feline coronavirus, this version is a mutated type causing symptoms such as fluid build up or neurological issues. Most cases of FIP can now be successfully cured with veterinary care and treatment 🐾
