Vets2You is a dedicated mobile unit run from a van and covers an approximate 15 mile radius of our surgeries in Bournemouth and Poole. It is staffed at all times by a qualified nurse and an experienced, caring veterinary surgeon. The van is fully equipped and combines all the equipment you'd expect to find in a traditional vets surgery with that of an ambulance including transport cages, scanners,

diagnostic scopes, weighing scales, blood pressure monitors and critical care facilities. The services offered include general consultations, minor treatment and preventative healthcare like flea and worm treatment, microchipping and vaccinations.

๐Ÿพ How fabulous is Freddie?!

At 17 years young, Freddie is still full of beans! With slightly high blood pressure and the odd creak here and there, most of us can empathise with his age related issues ๐Ÿซ

Happily Freddie is doing really well with daily medication and regular health checks - and weโ€™re sure he could teach some of our youngsters a thing or two about living life to the full ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿพ Koko and Mocha ๐Ÿพ

We started visiting the lovely Koko earlier this year when his mobility began to deteriorate, and have since seen him monthly for pain management. We're so pleased at how well he is doing now, and its really lovely to be greeted so enthusiastically by both Koko and his companion Mocha when we visit! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

We'd love to pretend that Koko is looking adoringly at us in these photos, but we're willing to accept that the tennis ball might rank just slightly above us on his list of favourite things! ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸฅŽ

Avian Influenza update:

From 00:01 on Thursday 6 November, mandatory captive bird housing measures will be extended to the whole of England.

You will have to house your birds in England if you keep either:
๐Ÿง more than 50 birds of any species โ€“ including poultry and other captive birds
๐Ÿฆ any number of poultry

Poultry are birds that are kept to give away or sell:
๐Ÿฅšeggs
๐Ÿฅšpoultry products
๐Ÿฅšlive birds

You do not have to house your birds if you keep less than 50 birds and their eggs or poultry products are for your own use only.

Over the next few days, as firework season starts with a bang, donโ€™t forget that outdoor pets may need a bit of extra support too.

As prey species, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals need to be able to tuck themselves away somewhere which feels safe and secure if theyโ€™re feeling worried.

The Rabbit Welfare Association has some good tips to help you prepare:

As firework night draws closer, donโ€™t forget that some of our feline friends might not be too keen on everything it entails!

The Cats Protection League have got some fab advice for making sure your cat is as calm and safe as possible:

Fireworks season can be an incredibly frightening time for many cats: the noise and flashes of fireworks can be traumatic. Keep your cat calm and safe during...

Meet the Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

Last but not least, is Sarah ๐Ÿคฉ

Sarah graduated from the Royal Veterinary college in 2010 and joined the Vets2You team in 2017.

She has a post-graduate certificate and special interest in our more unusual pet species, including reptiles, birds and small mammals (though she also loves seeing all our regular cat and dog patients too!) ๐Ÿ“๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿน

In recent years Sarah has also spent time working with native British wildlife and in a zoo! ๐Ÿฆ“ ๐Ÿฆ

Sarah enjoys all aspects of visiting patients at home as part of the Vets2You team, and is particularly passionate keeping our older patients comfortable in their golden years ๐Ÿ’›

Meet the Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

Say hello to Rachel ๐Ÿคฉ

Rachel is the newest addition to our home visiting team, having started working in the Natterjacks practice in 2018 and earning her โ€˜Registered Veterinary Nurseโ€™ qualification in 2023. She joined us as an official member of the team earlier this year, having previously helped us out with holiday and maternity cover โ˜บ๏ธ

Like Emma, Rachel also splits her time between working in the practice, and travelling around in our van - so you know your animals will be in familiar hands if theyโ€™re in need of surgery or a stay in hospital!

When shes not at work her life consists of running around after her toddler (who has an impressive turn of speed!) and walking her dog Leo. ๐Ÿถ

Rachel loves doing home visits for our wonderful clients and their adorable pets, and is a real asset to our team ๐Ÿฅฐ

Meet the Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

Next up is Bellin ๐Ÿคฉ

Raised in Dorset, Bellin graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013 with a degree in Veterinary Science. She cut her teeth in various small animal practices before joining the Natterjacks team in 2021.

She loves both medicine and surgery, meaning that sheโ€™s perfectly suited to her current combination of being out on the road with us, and ample time working in the practice to get her surgical fix!

She is married to her teenage sweetheart and has three children, three dogs, four chickens, six ducks and a sheep at home. When sheโ€™s not looking after her family and pets, she enjoys baking, gardening (look out for her name and beautiful prize-winning dahlias in the floral tent at the Dorset County Show! ๐ŸŒผ) , sewing and running. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Meet the Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

Say hello to Emma ๐Ÿคฉ

Emma spent two years at a referral hospital in Hampshire before joining the Natterjacks practice in 2017, going on to complete her veterinary nursing training in 2020. She now splits her time between the practice and travelling around with Vets2You - meaning that your pets will have a familiar face to greet them if they do need to go into the clinic.

She also has a passion for feline care, having spent five years working at Cats Protection. Her experience of working with a cats of a variety of temperaments mean that we consider Emma to be very own cat whisperer! ๐Ÿคซ ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›

When sheโ€™s not working, she loves trampolining, pub quizzes, board games, seeing friends and playing the guitar. ๐ŸŽธ

Our Story

Vets2You was founded with the aim of providing a truly unique veterinary home visit experience. We offer relaxed and unhurried consultations at your convenience, in the comfort of your own home. We are equipped to carry out the majority of consultation procedures on site, and can dispense most medications to you straight away.

Anna has now passed on the service to her good friend Andy at Natterjacks vets. We are now based in the Poole branch of Natterjacks at Darbys Corner. This has a number of advantages in that we have the back up of a large team of very experienced vets, with cutting edge, competitively priced services. We have a team of two veterinary surgeons - Sarah Fisher and Louise Melling, who are ably assisted by qualified nurses Lucy Hunt and Natalie Oliver.

For more information on the services we provide, please check out our services page, or our website. And as always, feel free to get in touch on 07531208720 or via [email protected]. Please be aware that we do not answer the phone if we are in a consultation - so leave a message or send us a text and we will reply as soon as possible. We aim to see all our patients at a time to suit them, but on rare occasions we cannot cater to every request (we cannot split ourselves in two!) On these times, you are welcome to attend the Natterjacks vet clinics in Poole or Boscombe. These clinics are also open until 6.30pm during the week, and 9am-4pm on Saturdays.
