**EDIT: HE HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH OWNER**We have had a male 6 year old border terrier dog handed into our practice this morning. He is microchipped but we cannot get hold of the owner as we believe he is still registered with the breeder. He was found in Witney. If you believe this is your dog please give us a call on 01865242600.

🐰 These lovely ladies have all recently been spayed at Iffley Vets! 🐰

Did you know that spaying is one of the most important things you can do for your female rabbit's health?

Unfortunately, female rabbits have a very high risk of developing uterine cancer as they get older, with studies showing that up to 80% may be affected by the age of 4. This serious disease causes tumours and cysts to develop within the uterus and can eventually spread to other organs, significantly reducing both quality of life and lifespan.

The good news is that this cancer is almost entirely preventable through spaying. We recommend having female rabbits spayed from around 6 months of age, as younger rabbits generally cope better with anaesthesia and surgery.

Signs that an unspayed rabbit may be developing uterine disease include:🐇 Weight loss🐇 Reduced appetite🐇 Lethargy🐇 Abdominal masses or swelling

Because uterine cancer is so common in rabbits, we strongly encourage owners to consider spaying as part of their rabbit's preventative healthcare.

Gorgeous Cleo came in today for her regular blood test, and was such a superstar! ✨️

She takes anti-inflammatory pain relief for her arthritis, and regular blood tests allow us to monitor the effects of her meds on important organs like her liver and kidneys 💊

We always recommend blood tests for our lovely patients that are on long-term medications, so that we can make sure everything is in tip-top condition.
