While it may feel as though our muddy fields have no grass, the green shoots are definitely coming through. Get ahead of any potential problems now and manage the risks by -
⚠️ Monitoring your horse's weight
⚠️ Restricting grazing & making changes slowly
⚠️ Soaking hay
⚠️ Increasing exercise where possible ( ideally cardiovascular )
⚠️ Choose a low calorie diet
Spot the signs:
⚠️ Lameness in one or more limbs
⚠️ Reluctance to walk or turn, particularly on hard or stony ground
⚠️ Shifting weight between feet when resting
⚠️ Increased digital pulses
⚠️ Abnormal heat in the hoof
If you suspect your horse has laminitis, call your vet immediately for advice.

Exciting News 🌟

As some of you may well know over the last two years a lot has been going on at Townfields. Our feed store has been built and housing and now we are about to start our own expansion.

As of next month we will begin the process of building The Farm Cafe at Townfields 🌾 This will be an expansion of our current store consisting of a cafe and area to stock more brands and lifestyle products, ultimately providing our customers with a much improved destination. Opening a cafe is something completely new and exciting for us all at Townfields and we look forward to opening our doors later on in the year to not only our customers but the local community.

This is a new chapter for Townfields and something to all get excited about.

We will keep you updated throughout the build process and we look forward to showing everyone our plans over the upcoming months.

We’ve been stacking up our green credentials here at Dapper Dobbins HQ, with 100 trees and 200 hedging saplings planted over the last few weekends!
Did you know:
- The plastic bags we return rugs in are made from recycled materials (and have been for years)
- The majority of our tonne bags that we use to move our rugs are recycled
- We’ve installed solar panels to run our washing machines
Reducing our carbon footprint/where there’s a will there’s a way!
