🐾 There is absolutely no shame in a short trim 🐾
This is my own Standard Poodle, clipped nice and short and easy to manage.
As a dog groomer, I speak to so many owners who feel guilty because they can’t keep up with daily brushing or maintain a long, fluffy coat. The truth is, life happens.
It’s better to keep a dog short than trying to brush out knots and mats (something I will refuse to do).
We’re all busy. I’m a dog groomer, a business owner, a mum, and I’m juggling life just like everyone else. Some days there simply aren’t enough hours in the day.
If you love a fluffy trim and can keep up with the brushing, that’s wonderful. But if a shorter, more manageable trim suits your lifestyle better, that’s absolutely okay too.
A well-maintained short coat is far kinder than a longer coat that becomes tangled, uncomfortable or stressful to manage for either you or your dog.
The right trim is the one that works for both of you.
So please don’t ever feel embarrassed to ask your groomer for a shorter style. You’re not failing your dog. You’re making a sensible choice that fits your lifestyle and keeps your dog comfortable.
And honestly? There’s something rather lovely about a neat, practical trim too 🥰🐾
She also hates her legs being groomed so the less stress for her, the better. WELFARE FIRST!!!
