Congratulations to Josh Clarke on being awarded the Fillongley Agricultural Society Bursary for 2025! We wish him all the best in his studies at Reaseheath College ๐พ๐๐๐
The Fillongley Agricultural Society Bursary is awarded in memory of Zilla Cookes, a former member of our society who is much missed and was much loved by us all. It is awarded to a young person living within ten miles of Fillongley church and is donated by Fillongley Agricultural Society to benefit a student studying on a recognised Agricultural course.

The Fillongley Agricultural Society was formed in 1919 by local farmers to promote all branches of Agriculture in the District and facilitate friendly competition. The first Show was held at Coundon Park in the same year and attracted some 300 entries. It then moved to Long Lane before settling at its present location sometime in the 1960s Our show has been held every year with interruptions only when we suffered with outbreaks of foot and mouth and for 3 years during the wars.
The Society has moved with the times and our annual show is not just for farmers but for everyone and all ages. The show has been on the current site for many years and is held on the second Sunday of August each year. All are very much welcome! If you would like even more involvement with the Society you are welcome to become a member, contact the secretary for details.
Competitions - On show day there are a variety of classes open to everyone including: Cattle, Pigs, Sheep, Poultry & Equine, as well as Horticulture, Home Produce and Country Crafts, a fun Dog Show and much more.
Traditional Crafts - We pride ourselves on ensuring thereโs always a variety of displays depicting country life, and also have a working craft tent with a number of stalls demonstrating their skills as well as offering artisan producers the opportunity to sell their wares.
Entertainment - All ages are catered for with exhilerating events in the main ring all day and FREE side shows such as Punch & Judy, clowns etc. for the younger members.
Tradestands - Show day brings over 60 trade stands with a wide variety of goods for sale and on display. Take a look at your next car, buy some new plants and furniture for your garden or eat the home made fudge, you know you should not have bought.
2019 will be our CENTENARY year! Preparations are already underway to mark the occasion, making sure the society has a solid foundation to make sure it reaches 200 years,
