🐱 Domestic Shorthair Cat

This lovely cat has a classic tabby coat pattern, one of the most common and recognisable patterns seen in domestic cats.

Did you know that “tabby” is not a breed? It describes a coat pattern that can be found in cats of many different breeds and backgrounds.

There is no single “typical” Domestic Shorthair, they come in many different shapes, sizes, colours and patterns, with each cat having its own unique personality.

They are cats with short coats that don’t belong to a recognised pedigree breed, and they come in a wonderful variety of colours, patterns and personalities.

🥹 Those eyes... how are we supposed to stay professional?

Meet Tosti, one of our tiniest visitors, who popped in for a check-up and completely melted our hearts. 🐶

Early vet visits are an important part of giving puppies a healthy start. Regular check-ups help us monitor their growth and development, keep vaccinations and parasite prevention up to date, and give owners the advice they need as their puppy grows. And, of course, the earlier they get used to visiting the vet, the more positive and stress-free those visits can become.

Tosti is certainly off to a very good start!

😁 You asked for a smiling Vangelis... so here you are!

And this time, he had two very special visitors to smile with! Our handsome roosters stopped by the practice for a health check.

🐓 Roosters and chickens can struggle in hot weather too! Make sure they always have access to fresh, cool water, plenty of shade and good airflow around their housing. Keep an eye out for open-mouth breathing, wings held away from the body, lethargy or weakness, these can be signs that they’re struggling with the heat.

🦜 Some patients have plenty to say...

This beautiful parrot stopped by for a health check and certainly brightened our day.

💧Summer tip: Birds can overheat too. Keep them in a cool, well-ventilated area, provide fresh water at all times, and avoid placing their cage in direct sunlight or near closed windows where temperatures can rise quickly.
