Broadland House Veterinary Surgery Veterinary practice in Stalham, Norfolk. We are a local small animal practice with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic vets and vet nurses.

The practice has been providing veterinary care for over 20 years. We provide our own 24 hour cover for all of our clients. If you need our service outside routine hours, call us on 01692 580171 and your call will be diverted to the veterinary surgeon on call, there is a slight pause before the divert.. The team consists of 3 RCVS registered and qualified Veterinary Surgeons, 4 RCVS qualified vet

Nurses, one trainee nurses, one auxillary nurse, two receptionists, our cleaner and our practice administrator. We also regularly take on work experience students from college and highschool.

🐰🐹 In small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets, we can use a range of diagnostic equipment to help us reach a diagnosis. This includes the use of veterinary ultrasound.

A thoracic (chest) ultrasound can help us to assess the heart, lungs and surrounding tissues in more detail. This is particularly useful in cases of heart and respiratory disease.

Ultrasound can help us investigate infections, fluid build-up, or even help us to diagnose neoplasia (tumours). The high frequency sound waves produced by the probe travel through the body and are reflected back, converting our pet’s insides into images.

This can help us to make a quicker and more accurate diagnosis, as well as allowing us to create a more accurate treatment plan.

So, if you are ever worried about your pet, rest assured that we have the equipment available to help reach an answer as quickly as we can.

Grass seeds can easily get trapped in your pet’s paws, ears, eyes or coat. Because of their sharp shape, they can work their way under the skin and cause pain, swelling or infection.

After walks, especially through long grass, check your pet carefully:

✅ Between the toes

✅ Around the ears

✅ Under the armpits

✅ Around the eyes and nose

✅ Through longer fur

If your pet is shaking their head, insistently licking a paw, sneezing repeatedly or seems uncomfortable, get in touch with us.

Does your dog love picking up sticks on walks? You’re not alone! But while it may seem harmless, sticks can cause serious problems if they snap, splinter or are swallowed.

Possible injuries include:

👉 Mouth wounds and broken teeth

👉 Choking

👉 Throat injuries

👉 Stomach or intestinal damage

The safer option? Bring a dog-friendly toy with you on walks, so your pup still gets the fun of chasing, carrying and chewing, without the stick-related risks.

Try a durable ball, rubber tug toy or floating fetch toy for outdoor adventures.
