Apologies to those waiting for a reply and anyone that I've had to reschedule over the last few days, a recent bereavement has shocked me and made it hard to even think about working.

Wow that was warm again 🤦‍♀️ unfortunately the rest of the afternoon is cancelled as I can't stand the heat in the van my head is pounding 😔
The dogs have also struggled in this and I won't put them through that.

If I've had to cancel your appointment I will get you back in as a priority next week.

Apologies but I have a duty of care towards your dogs, their welfare and comfort will always be put first.

Hope everyone is well.

I've had an amazing week off, catching up with friends and turning 33 years old 🙈 last job of the week is getting the van serviced and a few other little bits on it.
Big thanks to my mechanic kyle for looking after it always reliable and trustworthy 🙂

Can't wait to get back to work now 😊

Had the pleasure of meeting the lovely teddy again today for a full groom, previously he's just had a nail clip.
You can see the dead coat that is ready to come out while he is sat in the bath 🙈 the bath was certainly not white by the time we finished 🤣

Just look at the after pictures 😍 no explanation needed, his happy facial expressions say it all!

He'll feel much cooler now while we have this heat and be able to regulate his temperature better.

Just a heads up for everyone my last working day this month is the 27th june and I will be returning on the 8th July 😊 a much needed break for me while the van is also being serviced.

All appointments this afternoon are now cancelled as the van has hit 32c and it's getting too much for me let alone the dogs.

Out walking my boy this morning and came across loads of these 🙈

Pretty sure everyone knows what these are and even more so if you're a spaniel owner as they seem to attract them 🙈

Please check your dogs feet specifically inbetween the toes and pads after walks more so if you've been waking on a field or have seen lots of these on the way.

I have already found a few this past week or so on dogs that I've groomed. They will twist into the fur and can be hard to see 🤦‍♀️

Symptoms can be
Limping, sore red area on the foot, constantly licking the foot.
They can also enter the ears so any head shaking after a recent walk near these and I would advise a vet visit.
Nose is another place they can enter sneezing a lot or the nose weeping can be a sign of this. I have known of a young dog that lost an eye to a grass seed so if in doubt please contact your vet and get it seen to asap.

Somehow I have managed to keep the dogs cool but the same can't be said for me 🤣

As always I am going day by day with these temperatures at the moment because the dogs welfare will always be put first! Did you know that it takes a dog around two weeks to acclimatise to a new temperature?

Please don't walk your dogs in this heat I have seen so many people today out at the hottest point of the day 🤦‍♀️ it is not fair on the dogs! Unless you're willing to walk in a thick coat with no shoes on. Rant over 🙈
