Teddy is one very special man. Teddy is a working hearing dog from the incredible organisation Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People offer tailored support for people with all levels of hearing loss and cater to their individual needs.

🚀 Rocket 🚀

🐕 Rocket is a 3 month old Cocker Spaniel 🐕

Rocket came in to practice recently to get his 2nd course of his primary vaccinations 💉

It is crucial that puppy vaccinations and/or dog vaccination re starts have the 1st vaccine followed by a 2nd vaccine exactly 4 weeks later.

If the 2nd vaccination is missed or longer than 4 weeks it is likely the vaccine won't be as effective, which means your dog will not have the full cover and the vaccine course will have to be completed again.

Reception will make sure when booking your puppy in for their vaccinations or booking your dog in for a restart of their vaccinations that you can commit to an appointment exactly 4 weeks later 📆

If you have any questions about vaccinations/ vaccination restarts give us a call and one of our friendly reception team can help you.

☀️ Sunshine = BBQ 🍗🥓🥩

Who doesn't love a BBQ when the sunshine is out? However, BBQ's can be dangerous to our pets and we're here to give you some top tips...

1. Hot grills, coals and spilled hot food can cause severe burns to your pet.

2. It is essential that you properly extinguish and cool down the BBQ before leaving it unattended.

3. The smoke from the grills can be very irritating for pets’ lungs, especially as many have sensitive airways. Keep your pets a safe distance from the fumes.

4. Make sure your pets are kept away from scraps of food, especially foods with bones such as; chicken wings or foods with wooden skewers such as; kebabs as these can get stuck in your pets throat or digestive system.

5. The smells of cooking food can be enticing for your furry friends, so make sure they're included by keeping some pet safe treats to hand.

But most importantly...

☀️ Have Fun! ☀️

Please note our out of hours services will be available over the weekend...

🦷 The gorgeous Millie came to Holly House last week for a dental procedure with Vet Sophie🦷

Millie needed a few extractions but she is recovering extremely well. Millie also had a scale and polish.

📸 This picture was taken only an hour after her procedure. Look how bright she looks!

🧸 Millie's owner brought some of Millie's favorite Teddy's which gave her some home comforts whilst she stayed with us for the day.

Millie has since been in for her post op check with SVN (Student Vet Nurse) Fran and she is healing nicely 🩺

How cute is Bluebell? This cheeky girl is only 2 months old and is already beaming with personality.

💙 Bluebell visited Holly House this week for her vaccinations 💉

❓When is the right time to vaccinate your Kitten?

Cats can generally be vaccinated from eight or nine weeks of age, with a second vaccination given three to four weeks later.

❓What do vaccines protect against?

Core cat vaccinations include feline herpesvirus, calicivirus and feline panleukopenia virus – sometimes referred to as parvovirus – which causes feline infectious enteritis.

We also recommend vaccinating most cats against the feline leukaemia virus, which suppresses the immune system and is potentially fatal.

❓Why should I vaccinate my cat?

Adult cats should receive annual booster vaccinations to maintain immunity – particularly if they are going to be spending time in catteries or going outside.

If you would like to make sure your cat is fully vaccinated and protected give us a call and a member of our team can get you booked in.
