Meet gorgeous Kobie who recently came in to see our lovely vet Sarah for a dental procedure! 🦷

Dental disease in pets can manifest in several ways, and it often begins subtly with:

🦷 A persistent bad smell from the mouth

🦷 Visible plaque or tartar on the teeth

🦷 Red, swollen, or inflamed gums

Thankfully, Kobie's owners were proactive and scheduled him in for a dental procedure. This began with a scale and polish to remove all the built-up plaque and tartar. Once his teeth were scaled, each one was individually charted to check for any signs of abnormalities.

The good news Kobie's teeth were all in excellent condition underneath the plaque, and no extractions were needed! 🎉

💫Billie 💫

Billie came in to see our lovely vet Sarah, following a change in her normal routine at home noted by her owners. Initially it was noted that Billie had experienced episodes of vomitting either during the night or following food, along with a period of intermittent diarrhoea.

After a small series of tests were ran in house to be able to gauge a better idea of what we may be looking at with Billie, Billie was booked in for a specialist ultrasound scan with our travelling ultrasonographer Jerry.
After an extensive ultrasound scan, it was confirmed Billie had changes consistent with IBD.
A course of steroids and a change in diet and we are pleased to report a huge improvement in Billie! 💛

Bruce 🐾💗

Bruce came in for his annual vaccinations, but on discussion with his owner during the consult he has been licking excessively and intermittently limping on his front leg! On closer inspection it was found that he had a broken dew claw and the claw was causing Bruce discomfort.

Our vet Sian went ahead and sedated Bruce later on that morning removed the dew claw and he was sent home a few hours later.
Of course we ensured to add in a lot of cuddles before him going home and a little post sedation snack too!🐾

Teddy❤

Teddy was brought in by her owners after they had noticed a reduction in her appetite, reduction in her normal activity then an onset of vulval discharge. Teddy is entire meaning she has not been neutered, along with being 4 weeks post season this was concerning.

With the quick action of our reception team, Teddy was booked in that morning for an appointment. On examination our Vet Sian was concerned Teddy had developed a pyometra; an infection which has developed within the uterus. If left unattended it can be fatal.

Teddy was admitted for surgery and underwent surgery for an ovariohysterectomy with the added complication that her uterus was more than 6 times the normal size weighing over 500g (normal weight is less than 10g).
Luckily, teddy recovered well and is now back to enjoying life with her fur family at home!

🐰💙 Toffee💙🐰

Toffee visited us for his neutering procedure and did wonderfully throughout the anaesthetic and in recovery.

Neutering rabbits is can help prevent certain cancers, reduce unwanted behaviours such as aggression or spraying, and allows them to live more peacefully with other rabbits (when correctly bonded)

Toffee's owner also shared these beautiful photos of Toffee recovering at home the evening of the procedure!

If your rabbit is approaching the right age or you’d like more advice, our team is always happy to help. Wishing our brave patient a smooth and speedy recovery! 🌿✨

✨Lucky ✨

Lucky is a very special boy, and he has a special place in the teams heart here at Station House. Lucky recently came in to see us following a period of being unwell.

The good news is we were able to go ahead and castrate Lucky and remove the effected testicle.
On recovery Lucky made sure he was pampered exactly like he deserved! Here you can see our Student Nurse Jade hand feeding him his dinner!

His owner has taken very good care of him in the recovery process and we are glad to report he is doing very well! 💗💗

Boba's owners noticed a mass that had appeared on his tail and after consulting with Vet Sian he underwent surgery remove the tail mass.

The surgery went well and Boba recovered fantastically. He was given so many cuddles throughout the day and was eagerly awaiting his post recovery snacks!

Filled with lots of chocolate an time spent with loved ones🤍

We celebrated our Easter a little earlier on Thursday, where RVN Lucy organised us an Easter egg hunt and Kyisha our head of wellbeing made sure everyone was stocked up with an Easter egg!

It is always so lovely to be able to do these activities as a team🤍

We hope you have all had a lovely and pet safe Easter! 🐾
