Like most crops this year, grain maize has also been cut early! Richard and his team have harvested around 200 plots to assess both established and new lines for grain potential.

Although it's not going to be a bumper year for yields, the low moisture content of these varieties should reduce drying costs.

Ryan McCormack recently won Farmers Weekly Farm Manager of the Year award and we popped to see him whilst he was harvesting his BTS 1915 sugar beet - the highest yielding variety on the RL!

He's been yielding 82.5t/ha with a a good sugar content - fantastic to hear after this season's challenges!
