Meet Barney 🐈
Barney came in to our Stamford Bridge practice last week to see vet Gemma for a new patient check and isn't he so adorable?!🤩
Barney is a British Shorthair which you can tell as despite being only 4 months old you can already see those classic British Shorthair Cheeks.
He is now a member of our Healthy Pet Club and we look forward to seeing him grow up.

Everybody meet Lara the German Shepherd 🐶
The beautiful Lara came into our Norton surgery last week for her first ever vaccination and she was a such a brave girl.💉
Puppies need to be vaccinated against DHP (Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis and Parvovirus) and Leptospirosis. We also recommend them to have a Kennel Cough vaccine, especially if they are going to be going into kennels or socialising with other dogs. Once they have had their initial course they need a yearly booster, which is also a great opportunity to give them a full check over to make sure they are staying fit and healthy.
We look forward to seeing Lara and her fluffy ears for regular check ups as she gets older.🐶

It’s grass seed season! These barbed seeds easily attach to fur and can burrow into the skin, causing pain and infection.
Watch for These Signs:
Ears: Head shaking, scratching, and discomfort may indicate a seed lodged in the ear. These don’t work their way out and may need removal under sedation or anaesthetic.
Eyes: Redness, weeping, pawing, or squinting can signal a seed under the eyelid. Prompt vet attention is needed to prevent damage.
Feet: Lameness, licking, swelling, or oozing between toes could mean a seed has pierced the skin. These can travel up the leg and may cause infections.
Prevention Tips:
Avoid areas with long grass during summer.
Trim coats, especially around feet, ears, and between toes – particularly important for breeds like spaniels.
After walks, check your dog thoroughly and remove any visible seeds.

An unspoken rule of pet ownership: If your pet stretches, you have to say “oooooooh BIG stretch!” out loud every time.
It doesn’t matter where you are or who is around. No exceptions, no excuses. We don’t make the rules, we just lovingly enforce them.🐾✨

We all love a day at the seaside with our four-legged friends, but let’s make sure we’re keeping our beaches safe, clean and fun for everyone. 🏖🐶
✅ Pick up after your dog - and dispose of poo bags properly
✅ Be observant of restrictions - not all beaches allow dogs all year round
✅ Keep your dog under control - use a lead in busy areas or near wildlife
✅ Don’t let your dog approach others without checking first - not every dog
or person wants to say hello
✅ Watch out for heatstroke - take breaks for shade and fresh water, and stay
out of the intense midday sun
✅ Never let your dog drink seawater - small amounts can cause vomiting or diarrhoea and large amounts can have dangerous consequences
Most importantly - have fun and enjoy the sand and surf! We’d love to see your favourite dog beach snaps below 🐾📷⬇
