📚 Sheep Vet Advice from Rachel: Body Condition Scoring Before Tupping 🐑

As we approach tupping time, our vet Rachel reminds us that body condition scoring (BCS) is one of the most valuable management checks for ewe fertility and flock performance.

🔹 Top tip:
Always handle ewes, don’t just look — fleece can hide a lot!

🔹 When to check:
Assess ewes 6–8 weeks before tupping — this allows enough time to improve or manage condition through nutrition and grazing adjustments.

Take a few minutes to handle and score — it’s one of the best investments you can make before the tups go in!
