🐑Sheep breeding season is just around the corner – preparation is key!🐑

The boys 🐏 play a vital role in a successful breeding season, so don’t leave tup fertility to chance.

✅ Pre-breeding checks should be non-negotiable and are ideally carried out 8–10 weeks before tupping.

Remember the 5 T’s:
1️⃣ Teeth
2️⃣ Toes
3️⃣ Testicles
4️⃣ Tone
5️⃣ Treat

Carrying out these checks early gives you time to identify and resolve any issues or replace rams before the breeding season begins – helping to avoid costly surprises later on. ⏰✔️

A huge thank you to Castle Farm Vets Malton for raising an amazing £102.97 they took one of our collection pots along to Ryedale Show and took donations for these cute inflatable animals 🐷🐄🐑

We’re so incredibly grateful to each and every person who chooses to fundraise for Lucy’s Legacy. Whether it’s a collection pot, an event, a raffle or a challenge, every single penny helps us continue campaigning for better maternal mental health support and providing help for local families.

Cases of Bluetongue virus (BTV-3) are continuing to rise rapidly in both sheep and cattle, with reports suggesting clinical signs are proving more severe than in previous years. Sadly, this is resulting in increased mortality, particularly in sheep.
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is encouraging sheep farmers to speak with their vet to assess the risk of Bluetongue in their flock and discuss the most appropriate measures to help protect their animals.

They were called out to assist a heifer with calving, and just before midnight, this gorgeous Hereford bull calf made his arrival. 🐂💙

A fantastic outcome with both mum and calf doing really well. 🥰 Wishing them all the very best as they settle in together! 🌟🐮
