As a City and Guilds level 3 Dog Groomer, and as the owner I have tailor made this boutique to offer you as the dog owner and more importantly your dog, the very best in grooming and customer service. I have worked with and been around animals my whole life and feel that giving any animal time and reassurance helps them to settle and enjoy themselves. Major Groom offers, state of the art equipment

in a purpose built Grooming Boutique, to provide a high quality grooming experience. Major Groom is situated on Sudbrooke Lane, Nettleham, we provide a family run, friendly service. This boutique has been set up to offer the client and their owner a complete first class service, with a relaxed approach to grooming. At Major Groom we will provide a one to one personal service for your dog. We ensure that their health, well being and safety is our main concern at all times. At Major Groom every dog is an individual, and they are all treated in that regard, with their own personal requirements taken into account. Allowance has been made to incorporate a disabled access and a large exercise area. Limited on-site parking is available. Large Breed Considerations
Also an area has been created within our grooming parlour for giant breeds such as Great Dane, St.Bernards etc. This ensures that your pet will be receive the very best care while they are with us. Pick-up and delivery service
Here at Major Groom we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service, so you can also choose to have us pick up your dog and delivery them back to you all s***k and span and looking their very best. When you book your appointment make sure you request this service so we can ensure that it is available for the date and time you require.

Last post of today probably for months lol
These are the new puppies ( hopefully champions in the making )
The Black and Tan is Andora
And the golden is Valhalla
They are both Tibetan mastiffs !!!
That I have had a few weeks now they are just starting to settle in and the personality’s are so different they not related they are from different litters the golden boy I have waited for for 4 years as I wanted him out of this very special dog Ajuna her makings and head shape is second to none never mind her laid back manner but total sense of loyalty
Andora is out the very best male Tibetan mastiff in the uk. champion Pal fabulous dog that I have met many time s his owner is a fantastic man that’s dogs come first second and last and if she is anything like her father a champion princess is in the making

Just a quick post to say that the baby girl’s Astid and Freydis did so well at crufts this year with their results for such young dogs at wth world biggest dog show was brilliant!!!
I was over the moon
All the dogs that go to cruft are from all over the world. The quality of the dogs their is out standing and to have two very youngsters to do so well is very rewarding
I am very grateful to have such good quality dogs to be able to take part in events like this they love to show off. To be honest it’s nice to see them happy striding round the crufts ring
Very late to post this but everyone that knows me, will understand this!!! I am alway so busy grooming and training dogs I never get round to posting anything on line but today I am making an exception

This is Gizmo a new dog to Major Groom he has never been groomed before at 10 years old and was in a bad way when he turned up, his coat was extremely dirty and was full of matts
I bathed him 8 times to get his coat white like it should be then he had a deep condition treatment to soften the coat and help with all the matts
Gizmo is a West highland Terrier he, was so well behaved for a dog that had never been groomed. To be honest I think Gizmo not only really enjoyed the whole experience but was very thankful, for the feeling of his coat not pulling on his skin, with all the matts
Gizmo was recommended to by an exciting customer that was so grateful for me getting him in so quickly with Gizmo coat being in a bad way
When dogs are struggling like gizmo it’s our job as groomers to go that extra mile because no dog should struggle to walk because of matted fur and to be honest working later to see how happy this little boys was when I had finished him was worth me eatting my dinner at ten last night
I love my job and love the dogs I do but to see the happiness is gizmo when I had finished him, when he was outside getting a drink and treats on the Astro turf running around like a puppy was so rewarding
Tim his owner rang me later that night and explained he hard not been well and lost his partner recently and unfortunately gizmo hard not been looked after to the best for a while
I explained how special a little dog he was has explained why it is so important to keep looking after him
Really nice man that seemed very genuinely sorry for the state that gizmo had got into!!!
He say he will keep bring Gizmo so this never happen again
I hope he does because gizmo is so sweetie and I hate to see and think of any animal struggling especially any dog

To all dog owner please take in consideration of the cold weather on your dogs feet, with these temperatures at present
This can make your dogs feet very sore and even need vet treatment!!!!
Walk sorter walks and wash their feet throughly with warm water to help stop grit/ salt burns on their feet
We can’t put boots on our dogs to protect them from this like ours and if we could most would not let us !!!
We can take care of our four legged baby’s by thinking of there feet in the cold by doing the above

Probably like me and my dogs the weather isn’t the best for long country walks at present!!!!
Hopefully the weather won’t be to long before it is l like in the photo of the girls
I know they can’t wait for more long walks, where mum iis not telling them to get out of the mud constantly!!!!

To all customers of Major Groom
Please stick to your appointment times!!!
if you are early can you wait in the car or outside the shop in the court yard please…
With it being Christmas we are very busy and some dogs stress when people are coming in and out of the shop.
So to all dog owers till after Christmas your dogs will be collected off you from outside the shop and brought to you when they are ready !!!!
So please give us time to be able to do this
As you can see by the dryer photo of Charlie and Mylo, once the dogs settle they are very use to what is going on !!!
We at major groom try to make the whole grooming experience as calming and relaxed for your dogs as possible please allow to do this by sticking to your appointment times!!!
Being early or late doesn’t help!!!

This is the knew addition to the family. Freydis is settling well she is a Tibetan mastiff and love playing with her big sisters Lagatha and Astrid !!!
She is at her first championship show in three weeks with her sisters !!!!
She is again and imported dog from Poland from a fabulous breeder that only breeds the very best!!!!
Hopefully Freydis as her sisters will qualify for crufts 2026 but see how it all goes fingers crossed !!!!
The weather!!!!
The heat is bothering her at the moment much like every other dog in the uk at this present time!!!!
we have resulted to very early walks for all the dogs late walks or no walks
We have fans on all over the house and fresh cold water being changed so much to keep them cool
We got the dog pool up last week which I have spent more time in that the dogs but it all helps to keep them cool
I would just like to make all customer aware that if the temperature keeps going up like this, when it hits 30 degrees I will not be able to groom!!!getting your dog dry with dryers is way to dangerous at 30 degrees
I would never put anyone’s dog at risk so all customers will be contacted at this point and moves to a day where the temperature is safe for your dog and I feel that the conditions are Appropriate, to do our job safely !!!
Major groom is all about the welfare of you dog and making sure the conditions are right to work safely on your dog is Paramount 
Older dogs struggle in the heat at the best of times so grooming them in the wrong condition s is a definite no go
Dogs with heath problem such as heart conditions in this heat is also dangerous to groom
Please let us know if any changes in your dogs in the heat or recent things your have noticed about your dogs on arrival !!!!
Major Groom can change things around to help your dog in many differe ways to make sure they stay healthy and well in this heat and the conditions are safe to groom to dog !!!!

This is sushi!!!! (No she is not for eating ).
She is a puppy Chow Chow, she is an amazing little girl that has come to Major Groom, for the very first time 😊
Well she has take to it, like a duck to water !!!!
Everything is all knew to her but she has acted like this is a walk in the park!!!
Fabulous nature, so laidback about the whole experience!!!!

A Chow Chow has a double coat so keeping this coat very clean, brushed and combed daily is so important!!!
This, helps keep Sushi healthy!!!
Many Chow chows end up matted and get” hot spots “ in areas of their skin !!!
This can be totally avoided by daily grooming !!!! A quality diet, of meat but lots of fruit and vegetables !!!
A good bathing regime, in professional products, Insures the coat is very well conditioned.
There is many specialist products that has been brought out for Groomers, to use to ensure that a Chow Chow’s coat get professional care!!!
These products are costly but will keep your Chiw Chow healthy and save you a small Fortune on vet bills 

Vets love dogs with skin condition it a money making racket !!!!
The animal is suffering, which is terrified !!!!and it’s is costing their owner a small fortune !!!!
Most of skin conditions are due to a poor diet and not being groomed regularly enough!!!!
There is many different products on the market but natural products on dogs is always the best way to go!!!
I have learned so much over the years on food nutrition , skin conditions and your dogs health!!!!
It’s mind blowing and I am still learning, after years of experience !!!

I would like to say a big thank you to Sophie and Steave for being Sushi to Major Groom she is a fabulous addition to your family and I hope she brings you much love and joy over the years to come
