We fully understand how precious your dogs are, which is why we always treat our customers with the utmost care and respect. A consultation is sometimes advisable for new customers so we can determine exactly what result you would like for your pet, and any particular worries or queries you have can be discussed. We provide grooming, trimming, baths, clipping, hand stripping, de-matting, nail trim

ming, ear plucking, a**l gland emptying, medicated baths and teeth cleaning. We use evening primrose shampoo for skin that is irritable or flaky. If your vet has given you a shampoo, please bring it along so we can use it on your pet. Time, and therefore the cost, varies depending on the amount of work involved, and the size, breed, and condition of your dog or cat. Prices for individual grooms are available upon request.

🌾 Grass Seed Warning for Dog Owners

Grass seeds might look harmless, but they can cause serious problems for our dogs during the summer months especially now we are avoiding hot pavements and walking them more in the shade.

The grass seeds barbed, arrow-like shape allows them to attach to your dog’s coat before working their way into the skin. Once embedded, they can continue to migrate through the body, leading to painful infections, abscesses and, in some cases, surgery to remove them.

The most common places we find grass seeds are:
• Between the toes
• Inside the paw pads
• Armpits
• Groin area

They can also become lodged in your dogs eyes, ears and nostrils.

📸 This photo shows a grass seed we have found embedded between a dog’s pads. They can be surprisingly difficult to spot, so regular checks are essential.

✅ How to help prevent grass seed injuries:
• Check your dog’s paws, ears, armpits and groin after walks through long grass.
• Keep the hair around the paws and ears trimmed short to reduce the chance of seeds becoming tangled in the fur.
• Avoid long, dry grass where possible during grass seed season.

⚠️ Signs to watch for:
• Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
• Limping
• Swelling or redness
• Head shaking or scratching at the ears
• Sneezing repeatedly or pawing at the nose
• Squinting or excessive eye watering

We strongly recommend a quick check after every walk if caught early enough they can simply be plucked out 💚
