🌾🌾🌾 GRASS SEED SEASON 🌾🌾🌾

Just a little reminder to check your dogs over after walks due to these pesky seeds!
Grass seed season is rife now and nearly every single dog I've had in over past 2 weeks has had grass seeds in toes, arm pits and ears. These seeds, especially foxtails like the photo, get stuck in long hair and move into your dogs toes, arm pits, groins and ears (most common areas but can become embedded anywhere) and puncture the skin, then with friction and movement along with being stuck in hair, they move into the skin, some can go so far in that the skin heals over and the grass seed can migrate under the skin to any part of your dogs body needing surgery to remove! If I find seeds ill always remove them and if they've punctured the skin I always recommend vets for advice and possibly antibiotics as infections are so common. 🌾🌾
