Returning from a long summer break, traders are facing a sharp drop in butter prices. European prices have fallen from over €7000 to €6350-€6450, with further declines expected. This has already led several major dairy processors like Arla and South Caernarfon Creameries to cut their milk prices. While some companies have held their prices, more drops are anticipated. With both butter and cheese markets weakening, it's likely that milk prices for many farmers will soon fall below €4000.
