What a fantastic morning at the East Midland Gundog Club ND/NH competition! 🐾 Ruby and I came away with a Certificate of Merit in 5th place, so proud of her! 🏅 The day was brilliantly organised and filled with such a welcoming, friendly group of people.

Training on a new field today! Ran one of my favorites – the T Drill. Left and right retrieves were set up as blinds, while the straights were memory marks. Great session all around!

Sunday we entered a Working Test in Suffolk run by Canine In-tuition — and what a great day it was! Ruby and Chili both worked really well. No placings this time, but they weren’t far off, and Chili was awarded a COM (Certificate of Merit) 👏

Proud of the girls and grateful for a well-run event. Onwards and upwards! 💪

After shoot season we need them to start listening again🤔, so going back to directional work this will be this week’s drill, Working on directions, steadiness and positive stop whistle as Robert Milner talks about in his book ‘Absolutely Positively Gundog Training’ It’s all about repetition, repetition, repetition.

Super excited to announce that I’ve been accepted by The Gundog Club as an accredited Gundog Club trainer and assessor. It’s not an easy accreditation to get so this has made my day and finished the year off nicely. I’m so chuffed it’s unbelievable.

This couldn’t have been possible without Steve & Susie Hare, Deb’s and obviously my partners in crime Ruby & little Chili dog.
