Had the pleasure of training these two beautiful 9 month old Collies yesterday, Bonnie and Bailey.

We are doing puppy training but are combining it with behaviour training and a bit of trick training for fun.

We did a nose balance game 😊🐕🐾

We also learnt, spin, play dead and roll over.

The dogs and young owners did brilliant. ⭐️👏

Had the pleasure of training 3 Month Old Husky puppy, Asha today.

He is not too sure about his puppy brother Ky, also a Husky, 8 Weeks old,who I met today.🥰

We worked on:
⭐️Nose Touch
⭐️Look at Me
⭐️Impulse Control

We are working on slow introduction in a controlled environment.

Asha was a little bit nervous at first but I was soon able to gain his trust 🙂

Our job is not just
About cuddles and play
Calling them back
or 'Sit', 'Wait' and 'Stay'

We live in a world
Not built for dogs now
Everything is policed
What we do and don't allow

Quite often we're called
We are the last straw
Fix my dog now
Or they'll be out of the door

No biting at all!
Don't show you're upset!
Put up with the tail pull
Or you will regret

He's done it for years
But now we've a child
We've done no training
He's too big and too wild

He's not like my old dog
We hear people say
Curb his behaviour
Or we'll get rid today

We didn't research
The temperament or line
The breed or the breeder
We thought he'd be fine

He's mouthing my leg,
Keeps chasing our Jeep
I didn't realise Collies
Were bred to herd sheep

My terrier is naughty
Keeps chasing the cat
Predatory instincts?
We didn't know about that

My Shepherd lunges and barks
When my kids run away
We didn't realise he's herding
And wants them to stay

We want the best training
But we don't want to pay
It's only a dog
We'll just give it away

We're not the right fit
We're not the best home
We'll just pop him in kennels
He won't be alone

No longer our problem
Was not a good boy
We'll just get another
Discardable toy

Trainers hear this
Every day, every week
It's draining us dry
The outlook feels bleak

Training takes time
No magic wands here
We're training you
To be clear, kind and fair

Don't leave til last minute
Don't allow habits to form
The longer it's left
The bigger the storm

We love to help out
The people that care
Reach out for some help
If you're having a mare

It's not all a breeze
Not always a fun job
Be kind to your trainer
If they're kind to your dog.

Reactivity can be worked on but does take the correct training,time and patience to help the dog 🐕🐾

Puppy Training Program 😊🐾🐕🥰

3 month old, Bull Terrier puppy, Sushi, starting her 1:1 puppy training program in her own home.
Life skills are important for puppies to learn.

We started with:
⭐️Boundary training
⭐️Impulse Control
⭐️Nose Touch

She did brilliant 👏 This training is about giving the dogs choices, they make the right decision and they will get rewarded, which then increases the likelihood of the dog offering that behaviour again.

Minnie the 1 year old Corgi working on nose touch.

We started the distance really close,now she is doing fantastic with how far away she can come and touch your hand with her nose. She does touch my hand on the way back to 😊🐾🐕👏

Touch is a great exercise for building relationships, focus and can be used for recall 👍

All training in positive reward based.

Hudson, 6 month old Rottie x Bull Mastiff starting his boundary training. We didn't cue the lie down on his mat,he decided this is what would earn him the treat 😊🐶🐕🐾
