It’s that time of year again… members of the public concerned about dogs in vehicles, issuing threats of smashing windows, releasing dogs and accusing us of cruelty.

Please try to remember that most professional Dog Handler vans are specially insulated, temperature controlled, and fully equipped to keep dogs safe and comfortable, even during warmer weather.

Please also avoid approaching the vans or the dogs directly. This often causes the dogs to bark — not because they are distressed, but because they are doing the job they are trained to do.

Most handlers completely understand that people are concerned about animal welfare, and we genuinely appreciate that concern. If you are worried, please approach the handler politely and speak to them. Most handlers will be more than happy to reassure you and put your mind at rest.
