✨🌈 Today was a really surreal and emotional day as we said goodbye to our little Paddy.

Leaving Phoenix Pet Cremations with him today felt strangely comforting the sun shone brighter and brighter as we drove home, almost as though it was guiding him back where he belonged.

I’ve used pet cremation services before, but nothing has ever compared to what Phoenix Pet Cremation did for us. From the very beginning, I spoke to the same lovely lady all the way through the process and that consistency made me feel so safe and understood, especially as someone who is neurodivergent. It felt like she was on the journey with us, every step of the way.

She was so kind, respectful, and genuinely caring. She gave Paddy fuss and love as if he were her own, which meant the world to me and especially to my daughter who was very attached to him. The setup was private and peaceful, a big soft bed, a beautiful backdrop, and flowers where we could lay him to rest. I was given as much time as I needed to say goodbye, take photos, and just be with him. Every step of the way she checked what I was comfortable with, even asking permission before touching him.

When it was time, we watched her gently carry him away. The way she held him, stroked his little face, and treated him with such dignity made me feel at peace knowing he was in safe, loving hands.

Being able to bring him home the very same day made all the difference ,I never had to spend a night without him. Tonight his urn, blanket, and favourite toys are beside my bed, exactly where he would always sleep. And I feel comfort knowing he’s home again.

As many of my personal friends already know, we sadly said goodbye to my little best friend, our little chihuahua Paddy last night at 17 years old ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out with kind words and support, it truly means a lot. The best thing I can do now is spend time with my spicy dog grooming clients , my other 2 dogs and keep doing what I love.

📸 The day we brought H***h home 🏡 VS Now 🤩😍
Just look at that transformation!

The difference that the right environment, a good diet, regular grooming, and proper care can make is incredible. Even his eyes look brighter now 🥹✨

When I first got H***h, his undercoat was completely matted. He was nervous, reactive, and hated being touched—especially with a brush.
I messaged over 20 groomers across the UK, desperate for help. But no one felt confident handling him. No one offered advice. No one gave me any guidance on how to help desensitise him.

So, I had to rely on my own initiative—and a lot of Googling. 🧠💻
Bit by bit, I built his trust and helped him feel safe. It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it. H***h still has his spicy streak 🌶️, but now he shines.

💡 H***h was the reason I started The Spicy Dog Groomer.

When I began my grooming qualifications, I was honestly shocked by how little we were taught about dog behaviour. I quickly realised that anyone could qualify to work hands-on with animals they barely understood—and that grooming isn’t just cuddling cute dogs all day.
It’s emotional, skilled work that demands patience, empathy, and proper understanding.

I started out as the sole groomer at Southend Dog Grooming, and that’s where I really noticed the problem. So many of the dogs I groomed had been turned away by other salons—for things I knew could be improved with time, trust and the right approach.

These dogs weren’t bad or dangerous. They were scared. Overwhelmed. Misunderstood.
And they deserved better.

Because I’d been working in and around the dog training world, I had more behavioural knowledge and support than most. That allowed me to work with the dogs, not against them—modifying how they felt about grooming, giving them more choice, and helping them feel safe.

When the salon eventually closed, I decided to go it alone—and create a grooming space focused entirely on dogs like H***h.
