Cooper had other ideas about how his buster collar should be worn after his recent castration! Safe to say, this isn't quite how they're designed to fit... 😅

While it might look funny, buster collars play an important role in helping pets recover by preventing them from licking or chewing their surgical wounds. If your pet manages to become an escape artist like Cooper, don't worry, just get in touch with your vet team and we'll be happy to help make sure everything is fitted correctly.

We have had a liver and white, entire male spaniel handed in last night. He was found near Biggar around half a mile from the Tinto car park.

**He is chipped but the chip is not registered so we are trying to reunite him with his owner. **

Isn't he just the cutest? 🥹 Roo is a gorgeous Fox Red Labrador who's already keeping the team smiling (and no doubt causing a little bit of mischief too!).

We have had a young male kitten handed into our lanark branch this morning unfortunately been hit by a car and hasn’t made it. We believe him to be 12-16 weeks old, all black and no chip. 🐾 Exciting news for pet owners in Wishaw! 🐾

We're delighted to announce that work will begin on 17 August on a major expansion of our Wishaw Small Animal Hospital.

This exciting development will allow us to offer more appointments, enhance our facilities, and continue providing the highest standard of care for pets and their owners across our community.

Over the coming months, we'll be introducing:

🐱 A dedicated cat-friendly waiting area to help reduce stress for our feline patients
🩺 Two additional consulting rooms, increasing our total to six
🏥 A second operating theatre, allowing us to expand our surgical services, including laparoscopic spays
🐶 Additional dog kennels and a refurbished X-ray room
👩‍⚕️ New spaces to support staff training, professional development and team wellbeing

We're also thrilled to have welcomed two new receptionists, two veterinary surgeons and two veterinary nurses to our growing team, helping us provide even more appointments and exceptional care for our clients.

Our Clinical Director, Niall Kenny, said:

"This is a really exciting milestone for our practice. The expansion will help us continue delivering the highest standards of veterinary care for local families for many years to come."

The project is expected to be completed by early December 2026, and we'll be sharing updates throughout the build. We can't wait to welcome you into our new and improved hospital! 💙🐶🐱

We have had a young adult,ragdoll, entire male cat handed into our Wishaw branch this afternoon. He has been involved in a road traffic accident and unfortunately has not made it.
