🆘 URGENT: FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED – WORCESTERSHIRE

For Leon – Amazing Young Malinois (or mix) ❤️

Leon arrived with us today and he is an absolute star! Happy, bouncy, friendly and confident – he’s settled straight away and been perfectly gentle and calm around the foster family’s children.

The situation:
Our current foster’s own dogs are very high-energy, overly enthusiastic and overwhelming for him – poor Leon is frightened and keeps out of their way. The foster simply doesn’t have the space to keep them separated long-term, so right now Leon is resting safely in a crate in the kitchen – this is only a temporary stopgap and not where he should be.

What he needs:
A home where he can decompress properly. He would thrive with a calmer, more settled dog who won’t overwhelm him – or he’d be equally happy as the only dog in the home. He has so much love to give and just needs somewhere he can relax and be his wonderful self.

Location: Wyre Forest, Worcestershire
Status: Immediate need – suitable for foster or foster-to-adopt
Note: Breed experience preferred, but we will support the right home with guidance and advice.

This handsome 8-month-old boy is looking for his perfect match! 🧡

Arlo was bought as a pup advertised as a Malinois x Dutch Herder – though we suspect he may be more of a Mali x GSD! Whatever his exact mix, he is one happy, bouncy, bright and lively lad who is full of fun.

✨ All about Arlo:
✅ Grew up happily with young children and a baby, and is great with other dogs too
✅ Has had some training already – still pulls on the lead so he wears a halti to help him learn better manners
✅ Confident lad overall… but he does have one very funny secret fear – BANANAS! 🫣🍌😂
✅ Fully vaccinated & microchipped

Arlo is looking for someone who understands working crossbreeds, has the time and patience to keep building his training, and can give him all the love, fun and routine he deserves.

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING – PLEASE READ & SHARE ⚠️

The screenshots attached show exactly WHY it is so vital to get a dog from a reputable, responsible source: a licensed breeder, an established rescue experienced with the breed, or another trusted provider. These are the only places you will get full honesty about a dog’s history, behaviour and needs, plus ongoing support.

Right now, Facebook and pet selling sites are flooded with Belgian Malinois – many advertised as “free to good home” or for ridiculously low prices. Most are pups over 5 months old, adolescents, or dogs under two years of age.

Owners will list all kinds of reasons for rehoming: new job, new baby, house move, allergies, relationship split, sick relative… but how do you know you are being told the full truth?

The hard reality is: most of these dogs are being passed on because their owners have realised too late just how high-maintenance, demanding and specialised a Malinois truly is – and that this breed is simply not suited to an average pet home.

Very many of these dogs will have had little or no training, almost no socialisation, and will come with issues the current owner is unlikely to admit:
🔹 Reactivity or aggression
🔹 Destructiveness or excessive noise
🔹 Severe separation anxiety
🔹 Dislike of children, cats, other dogs or small animals
🔹 A history of chasing or harming livestock
🔹 Being a master escape artist



THE TRUTH CAN BE SHOCKING
We would normally protect privacy, but we believe Codie Nelson needs to be named publicly so no one else is put at risk. The dog she is attempting to rehome has a confirmed bite history – critical information that was NOT disclosed in her adverts. The screenshots speak for themselves, and they are deeply worrying.

Please – we beg you – be extremely cautious when considering any private rehome or sale. You have no way of knowing what you are actually taking on, or what dangers may be hidden from you.

Always ask for full, honest disclosure, always get independent advice, and always choose a source that has the dog’s welfare and your safety as their absolute priority.

Meet handsome Leon – our 8-month-old Belgian Malinois boy, ready to find his people!

Leon is everything you’d expect from a Mali pup: friendly, bouncy, full of life and so eager to learn! He’s just at the age where he needs someone to show him the ropes, help him polish up his manners, and keep that clever brain busy with regular, positive training.

We were so hopeful we’d found his perfect match, but sadly the adopter has had to pull out at the last minute – so we’re starting our search all over again.

✅ Looking for: Someone experienced with Belgian Malinois or similar working breeds, who has the time, patience and commitment to continue his training and meet all his needs.

THANK YOU to every single person who has reached out and offered help for the Malinois needing urgent temporary foster care. Your kindness and willingness to step forward is truly appreciated.

The dog’s owner has asked us to advise everyone who contacted us that she will be in touch with you as soon as she possibly can. As you can imagine, she has an enormous amount to arrange and organise right now, so please bear with her.



✅ CLEAR FACTS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

🔹 This dog has NOT been signed over to New Dawn Rescue. The owner does NOT wish to rehome her. She retains full ownership and all responsibility for her dog at all times.
🔹 New Dawn is posting this update purely on behalf of the owner. We are acting only as a messenger — we have no control, no authority, and no involvement in any arrangements made nor do we have a duty or obligation to cover any costs associated with the dog
🔹 All costs will be covered by the owner. Any foster or care arrangements agreed will be private arrangements directly between the owner and the carer. New Dawn will play no part in these agreements.
🔹 NO fees or charges have been made to New Dawn by the owner for our help or support in this situation — any suggestion otherwise is completely untrue.
🔹 If a GoFundMe is set up to help with boarding costs should no suitable foster be found, ALL funds raised will be paid by Go Fund Me directly into the owner’s own bank account. New Dawn will not handle or receive any money whatsoever.

🐾 HAPPY GOTCHA DAY, MARVEL! 🐾
Some of you may remember Bruce, who recently came into the care of New Dawn Rescue and went to stay with the wonderful Hannah as a foster.
Well... we have our favourite kind of news.
THE FOSTER HAS FAILED! 😂❤️
Bruce is now officially Marvel, and today we get to say that he is HOME. 🏡🐾
From the very beginning, Marvel settled beautifully into life with Hannah and her dogs. He found his feet, made friends, started showing his personality and, somewhere along the way, it became pretty obvious that he'd already found exactly where he belonged.
So today we're delighted to make it official.
Happy Gotcha Day, Marvel! 🎉
Here's to a lifetime of training, adventures, muddy paws, new friends and being thoroughly loved by your new family.

Electra arrived yesterday

What an absolutely delightful girl she is

Her foster ( to adopt) spent some time with her at my paddock meeting my horses and dogs

When it was time to leave Electra happily hopped into the crate in the back of the car and settled quite happily

Here at New Dawn we do our absolute best to match our fosters and adopters to suitable dogs and of course our dogs to suitable forever homes

We are extremely proud our adoption failure rate is exceptionally low

This is the update we received on Electra this morning 😊❤️

Of course nothing in life is ever guaranteed and it's still very early days but we suspect we might have another failed foster 😂😂😂😂😂
