Meet lovely Sonny☀️🐾

This very handsome boy came in for a weight check with our nurses at Wakefield recently.
Even though he is 1 year old he is still growing. Did you know larger breed dogs, such as Max, can keep growing up until they are 2 years old!😮 This is why it is so important to weigh him regularly to make sure he is getting the appropriate parasite prevention for his size🕷️💗!

I think we can all agree he is a very beautiful boy!!!!😍

Say hello to lovely Max👋💗

This handsome little man came to visit our Wakefield branch recently for his full course of puppy vaccinations. He very quickly stole the heart of our nurse Nicola - can you blame her, just look at that sweet face!😍

Max is only 6 months old and still has a lot of growing to do, but already weighs 15kg!! Any guesses as to what breed he is? 🤔

As he grows we will keep track of his weight with monthly nurse visits!! We are so excited to see him back again soon!!!!

Breed : Golden Retriever X Labrador🐕

Say hello to lovely little Benji!💗

Benji recently came to visit our Wakefield practice for his initial puppy vaccinations, nail clipping, parasite prevention, and, of course, a lot of love and attention from the team!

He was so well behaved for his visit! We will be seeing Benji back in practice every 4 weeks to keep up to date with his weight whilst he still grows!! Any guesses on what breeds he is?

We look forward to seeing him back in practice soon!❤️

We believe preventative treatment is the best course of action for fleas, ticks and worms, that’s why we include year-round treatment for cats and dogs in our Pet Health for Life plan.

Lead Nurse Amber discusses the benefits of regular parasite prevention.

This is lovely little Goldie!🐕

She visited us at our Wakefield practice for a stage one dental procedure and started her stay at Wakefield with a pre-anaesthetic blood test🩸🦷

This allows us to make sure everything is functioning as it should be before having a full general anaesthetic.

Once the bloods were checked by a Veterinarian she was safely anesthetised. An RVN was then able to perform full mouth x-rays, chart her teeth and gum condition in detail, and finish up with a full scale and polish!

Did you know all our stage one dental procedures are completely RVN lead?🤯

She left the practice, that same day, with lovely pearly whites and fresh minty breath thanks to the doggy safe ProphyPaste used!

Meet Theodore the 1 year old beauty 😻

Theodore visited our Waterloo Practice recently to see Veterinary Nurse Amber. Whilst here she had a weight check ⚖️, a little pedicure 💅 and Amber administered some Parasite prevention medication.

Whilst here Theodore's Paw-rent expressed concerns of bum scooting so we recommended that they rebook Theodore in with a Veterinary Surgeon to that we can hopefully rule out any allergies or a**l gland issues.

As you can see she is such a good girl and was perfectly posed for her photoshoot 📸

Rehab Star of the Month: Bonsai! ⭐🐶

Meet 4-year-old Bonsai the Airedale terrier, our fantastic August Rehab Star! Bonsai joined our rehabilitation centre last year to help manage his hip dysplasia and secondary osteoarthritis.

Simply put, hip dysplasia is when a dog's hip joint doesn't fit together quite right – think of it like a puzzle piece that's a bit wobbly! Over time, that wobbly joint causes extra wear and tear, leading to secondary osteoarthritis. This is essentially arthritis that develops because of the initial hip problem.

For Bonsai, this meant he was having trouble with limited walks and a stiff gait. Without treatment, he could have deteriorated further, struggling with everyday activities like jumping, running, or even just getting up. 😥

Alongside pain relief prescribed by his vet, Bonsai received a tailored plan at our rehabilitation centre to help keep his hips both comfortable and strong 💪. While we can't cure his condition, we can certainly help him manage it effectively.

Bonsai's plan includes a home exercise routine, plus regular visits for laser treatment and hydrotherapy in our underwater treadmill. 🌊✨

Over the last year, Bonsai has made excellent progress! 🎉 He now enjoys longer walks and
requires less pain relief. We love seeing Bonsai and being part of his rehabilitation journey 🥰.

Keep up the good work, Bonsai! 🐾⭐️

This handsome boy is Truffle who paid a little visit to our Mirfield Branch recently 🤩

5 months old Truffle was here for a neutering procedure and as you can tell our nursing team just fell in love with him!

Lead Veterinary Nurse Chelsea said he was a star ⭐ patient and certainly enjoyed lots of fuss from the team on the day 🥰

We will see Truffle for a recheck soon to ensure he is recovering and healing nicely, and of course more squishy cuddles 😍

This is Izach🤩

Izach is a Bearded Collie who came to our Dewsbury Hospital recently as he had developed a rash on his abdomen and groin 😩

He was becoming rather irited by this rash and was also trying to lick the area. We really didn't want Izach to make this any worse so we after a check over he was sent him with some antimicrobial body wash and an Elizabethan collar (cone) to keep on (Sorry Izach 🙈).

We suggested Izach comes back in 5-7 days for a recheck but we really hope this does the trick!

Say hello to little Charlie 😍

Charlie is 6 years young and stole the hearts of our client care administrators when he came to our Dewsbury Hospital for his second vaccination.

He is such a sweet boy and was very brave in his appointment 💉🩺

We couldn't resist a photo as he really is model material 📸

This is Alfie, who visited our Dewsbury Hospital after suffering with loose stools for a couple of weeks. Although Alfie's Paw-rent reported that this had now subsided, they also noticed some weight loss 😩. Our Veterinary Surgeon has a good check over Alfie and suggested he came back in 4 weeks for another weight check ⚖️

If Alfie's weight has decreased further it would be best to have some blood tests to rule out a number or possible causes 💉🩺

As much as we loved seeing Alfie, we really hope he doesn't require any further treatment.
