We've had a great weekend... we hope you did too! 💚🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who visited Holmes Chapel Zoo this weekend. We love seeing families, friends, grandparents and animal lovers enjoying time together and making special memories with our amazing animals ☀️🦉🦘

To round off the weekend, here's Watson and Walter doing what they do best - play wrestling, chasing and tumbling around their enclosure! 🦨😂

These two are always full of character and never fail to make us smile.

If you couldn't make it this weekend, don't forget that weekdays are a wonderful time to visit the zoo. With a more relaxed pace, they're perfect for:

Today's video captures our two skunks enthusiastically foraging for their breakfast — and they're certainly not the quietest diners at the zoo! 😂🐾

Skunks are naturally curious animals and love using their powerful sense of smell to investigate every nook and cranny in search of tasty treats. Watching them snuffle, dig and rustle their way around their enclosure is always a visitor favourite.

We’re absolutely delighted to share that we have been selected as a finalist for Start-Up Business of the Year in the 2026 North Cheshire Business Awards!

To be recognised among so many fantastic businesses is a real honour, and we're incredibly proud to have reached this stage of the competition.

When we started this journey, we could only dream of achieving recognition like this. It wouldn't have been possible without our amazing team, loyal customers, volunteers, partners and everyone who has believed in what we're building.

The next stage is finalist interviews with the judges, and we're excited to tell our story and share what we've achieved so far.

We’ve had a wonderful half term here at the zoo, and we hope that you have too! As we’re winding down and returning to our normal schedule, we’ve taken some time to reflect on whether our animals have been Shining Stars, or if they’ve been Simply Scamps! 😈 Our nominees this week are:

What a FANTASTIC half term it’s been at Holmes Chapel Zoo ☀️🦉🦘🐍✨

The weather has been ridiculously hot, the zoo has been full of smiling faces, and we’ve absolutely loved welcoming so many of you through our gates over the last week 💚🐾

From families completing our Animal Superpowers Trail to children meeting animals up close for the very first time, it’s been a half term full of special memories, laughter and lovely moments.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who chose to spend part of their holidays with us, whether you visited for a full day out, a Meet the Meerkat experience, a picnic in the sunshine or simply a peaceful wander around the zoo 🌿✨
Thank you for making us part of your half term week.

As the schools return tomorrow, the zoo becomes a little calmer again and weekdays can be a really lovely time to visit.
