☀️Hot Weather☀️

Have you ever taken your shoes and socks off, put a fur coat on and walked on a pavement in 29c heat?

NO……so please don’t expect your dog to do this.

Please walk your dog, either early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler.

Please NEVER leave a dog or a cat in the car during this hot weather – even for a few minutes.

Cars can become fatally hot, even when it feels mild outside.

Hot pavements can burn paws and dogs can quickly overheat.

Enjoy this lovely sunshine ☀️ but please be careful ☀️🐶☀️🐈☀️

Unfortunately we have had a deceased, black/grey & white female adult cat brought into us this morning.

No collar or chip. Found at the side of Blackden Lane towards the Church in Goostrey.

Just to let anyone know who is coming to us, the road is closed in Goostrey. We are still open and you can get to us from the A50.

🐶🐈‍⬛ THE RESULTS ARE IN 🐈‍⬛🐶

As you know here at Goostrey Lane Vets we try to encourage a more natural, holistic approach to parasite control.

This is mainly due to -

1) Concerns about the long term effects of these chemicals on your 🐶 dog’s health.

2) Long term effects on anti-parasite 🪱 medication resistance.

3) Long term effects on the 🌎 environment.

As an alternative to routine worming medications we have been performing a simple worm egg count for over 4 years now and we’d like to share the results for last year (March 2025 to March 2026).

96% of samples NEGATIVE
4% of samples POSITIVE

The results speak for themselves, is regular worming of our pets really necessary?

☀️🦆🐥 Spring has sprung 🐥🦆☀️

This is our little white duck, she sits every year but has never managed to hatch any ducklings. Last night when we got home from the vets we came back to a lovely surprise. I just hope she’s a good mother 🐥🦆☀️
