🚨Notice to all clients🚨

We are extremely busy on the run up to Christmas, and unfortunately In the last week we have had 18 missed appointments, which resulted in over 6 hours of lost veterinary time.

Missed appointments prevent us from helping other pets who may need urgent care. If you’re unable to attend, we kindly ask for as much notice as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient.

Thank you to everyone who attends their appointments and lets us know when plans change — we truly appreciate your support🐶💚

As the big day draws closer, please make sure you have enough medication for your pet over the festive season.

Please get your pet's medication orders to us by Friday 19th December to ensure we have time to get them ready to collect before the big day!

‼️Stray Dog‼️

We have had a male, entire stray dog handed in to the practice which was found near Belle Vue Centre. Microchip not registered.

If you think he could be yours, please contact the practice. Dog warden has been informed.

‼️Calling all clients - our vet practice is taking part in The Animal Medicines Amnesty and we need your support!‼️

Everyone has a role to both use and dispose of veterinary medicines responsibly to protect pet and human wellbeing, and the health of the environment. That’s why we at Vets for Pets Hartlepool are taking part in The Animal Medicines Amnesty to make sure unused medicines are disposed of safely. Getting involved is easy! Check to see if you have any out-of-date or unused pet medications at home and if so, simply hand them in to one of our friendly members of staff for safe disposal.

Pet medicines should never be disposed of in household waste as this can contaminate the environment. They shouldn’t be kept for future use on pets either as this can result in dangerous side effects.

🌈 EXCITING NEWS 🌈

A few weeks ago we were contacted by Tanya, a social prescriber from the One Life in Hartlepool. Social prescribing is an approach that connects people with community-based resources to address their social, practical, and emotional needs, thereby improving their health and well-being.
Tanya had sadly recently lost her dog Bobby and used our services, realising there was something missing in the community she reached out to us and on Wednesday we had a meeting with her alongside Margaret and Alec to discuss creating a monthly Pet Bereavement Group.
We all agreed this is very much needed, and between us came up with some great ideas
This would be hosted by ourselves, along with Hayley from Friends and the social prescribing team and held in a venue ( still looking) it would be once a month for a couple of hours, sometimes family and friends don't understand the immense grief that loosing your faithful companion brings, talking with others who have been through the same grief as you can really help Tea, coffee and cakes would be provided, we are still in the planning phase and are hoping to have our first meeting in the new year. Please let us know your thoughts and any suggestions, we need your help to get this of the ground and please share this to spread the word ❤️

We have had a black & white cat handed in this morning, he is a neutered male and has no microchip. He was found at Seaton last night, sadly he is in very poor condition, if you think he may belong to you please contact the surgery before 12pm today
