While the air temperature might seem bearable, remember that the pavement can be scorching hot for our furry friends' paws 🔥

⚠️If you can't hold the back of your hand to the pavement for 5-7 seconds, it's too hot for
your dog's delicate paws.

Protecting your pet's paws is key during the summer months. Opt for walks during cooler
times of the day and stick to grassy areas where possible.

Seasonal Canine Illness (SCI) has no known cause,
but this is what we know so far 👇

🌞Seasonal means it is most prevalent between August and November
🌲Dogs fall ill roughly 1 - 3 days after a woodland walk
🤒Symptoms may include vomiting, lethargy, abdominal pain, not eating and muscle tremors

SCI can be fatal and although the cause is currently unknown, we focus on treating the symptoms and most cases recover.

Summer brings sunny days and outdoor adventures for our feline friends!

🌞While your cat enjoys lounging in the garden, it's essential to provide a
safe and enjoyable environment. Here are some tips:

🐱Check for Shade: Ensure your garden has shaded areas where your cat
can retreat from the sun's heat. Consider planting trees or installing
umbrellas or awnings to create cool spots.
🐱Safe Plants: Be mindful of the plants in your garden, as some can be toxic
to cats if ingested.
🐱Water Source: Place a shallow water bowl or fountain in the garden to
keep your cat hydrated during outdoor excursions.
🐱Fence Security: If your garden is enclosed by a fence, regularly inspect it
for any gaps or loose areas where your cat could escape. Ensure the fence is
cat-proof to prevent accidental escapes.
🐱Supervised Play: While your cat may enjoy exploring the garden
independently, always supervise outdoor time to ensure their safety. Keep an
eye out for potential hazards and intervene if necessary.

With these tips, you can create a cat-friendly garden where your furry friend
can enjoy the summer sunshine safely!
