Beautiful tribute to Sadie ❤️🌈
Sadie-Belle or the saidster was never supposed to be ours.
We were adopting her brother, but she had other plans. From the very beginning, she chose us—climbing over, demanding attention, refusing to let her brother get a look in. That was her way: determined, confident, and completely unforgettable. We didn’t pick her. She picked us, and our lives were better for it every single day after.
From the moment we brought her home, she stole our hearts. She had a personality larger than life—full of quirks, opinions, and a certain unmistakable flair. She was a diva in the truest sense, carrying herself as though she knew she was the centre of the universe. And to us, she was.
She didn’t care much for other animals—people were her world. And what a world she created. Anyone who met her couldn’t help but fall under her spell. There was something about her, something warm and magnetic, that made her impossible not to love. She made a house feel like home just by being in it.
For nearly 18 years, she filled our lives with laughter, comfort, and companionship. She was there through ordinary days and extraordinary moments, a constant presence, a quiet and sometimes not-so-quiet source of joy.
Losing her, just days before her 18th birthday, feels unbearably unfair. Our hearts are broken in a way only those who have loved an animal so deeply can truly understand. The silence she leaves behind is loud, and the space she filled can never be replaced.
But even in our grief, we hold onto what she gave us: years of love, of memories, of a bond that will never fade. She chose us once, all those years ago—and we will always be grateful that she did.
She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts.
